⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Durable and Great Value for Home GymI picked up a pair of the CAP 45lb PRO bumper plates for my garage gym, and they’ve been excellent so far. The weight is accurate (within a few ounces when I checked with a scale), and the plates feel solid and well-built. The rubber coating has just the right amount of bounce when dropped, and they fit snugly on my Olympic bar without wobbling. They aren’t as thick as some cheaper bumpers, which means I can load more weight on the bar, and the finish has held up well after multiple workouts. There’s a bit of rubber smell and oiliness when first unboxing, but it fades quickly.Overall, for the price, these are a fantastic addition to any home gym. If you’re looking for reliable bumper plates that don’t break the bank, CAP delivers.Would definitely buy again.
CAP makes pretty good products. They aren’t top tier by any means but they get the job done. I am not even positive which CAP weights this review was for because I have about 350 lbs of various weights between their economy and elite series weights. The economy series is nice. I like the color markings to differentiate weight easily at a glance. I’d say accuracy of weight is hit or miss. Some are spot on but the 45lb weights are actually 46.7 lbs (at least mine are).I have a multiple 45 lbs plates but a single one has developed a bit of a crack in it. I’ve only had it for 5 months so that’s not great. But the other 3 45 lbs plates are all fine. I have 2 15 lb plates and one of them developed a small almost bubble on the side. Though it’s very small and not an issue, but it’s a slight deformation. All the other economy models are fine. As for elites, I only have 2 35 and 2 25 elite models. You can tell it’s virgin rubber versus recycled rubber on the economy. It just feels denser almost. I have no deformities or cracks in the elite models. Price wise you can sometimes get elite for as cheap and in some cases cheaper than the economy so I’d go with elite. HOWEVER, the elite is all black and lacks color to differentiate them easily at a glance.Look. These aren’t Rogue Fitness. But they aren’t $3-5 a lb either. They are just as heavy to lift as other premium brands at a fraction of the cost. They’ll do for the avg lifter and they’re a great buy on a budget.
The value of these bumper plates is clear; plus, the construction/fit and finish are very nice. However, the plates came covered in some oily concoction (probably some kind of packing lube or grease meant to preserve the product) and the rubber smell was quite strong and noxious. I had to leave the plates outside for a couple days to air out properly. That being said, they'll do the job and are a good buy.
3 out of 8 plates look like this. Not made for impact. Will not buy again.
For the money these are probably the best quality weight plates you can get that are a fraction of the price of traditional/metal weight plates. I got 2 45 lb. plates for less than what I would pay for 1 plate of the traditional style at the local sporting goods/fitness store. These come well packed in sturdy boxes, and are wrapped in plastic. There is a bit of shipping grease on them and they do have a little bit of a plastic smell to them. The smell will go away in a few months and just have some wipes on hand when they arrive so you can wipe/clean them off. They look great, have a good feel to them, and work with the 2.5 inch barbells. These were a huge addition to my home gym since I was moving up to heavier weights on squats and deadlifts and needed to buy more plates behind my first 300 lb. Olympic Set. Other plates were cost prohibitive and I was initially skeptical about these given how "cheap" they were/are, but they are high quality and good plates. These have also been great for deadlifts since they are a bit easier on my floor padding than the metal weights. The only drawback is that there isn't a good handle or spot to grip the plate when you take it off the rack, so with the heavier plates you'll have to use 2 hands to pick them up and rack them. Will certainly buy a few more of these when I need to expand my weight set.
Weight is spot on, good quality. Durable as well.
Unos platos muy buenos y de buen precio, pesan lo que dicen pesar y se sienten de muy buena calidad
Great bumper plates, I bought the pair of (2) 55lb plates and loaded them both on my scale, and they are exactly 110lbs for both of them, I was pleasantly surprised, I was expecting a little bit of a discrepancy in weight due to the low price compared to other brands, but lo and behold the weight accuracy is spot on. The finish is smooth and soft, they did come a little oily and smelly of chemical, but I cleaned them with a kitchen napkin and let them air dry all night and that solved the problem. The hole size is 2", just right for my ritfit Olympic barbell, they are 3-5/16" thick. Great buy!
Slightly oily but expected and was easy to wipe off. Excellent quality
I am very happy with these Pro series bumper plates.Product packaging was solid. Weight is very accurate. When they arrived, I used some warm water and dish soap in a spray bottle and cleaned the oil off of the plates, dried thoroughly, and then left them in the garage for 24h to off gas. These are not slick/oily feeling like many of my other bumpers and they don't smell much if at all anymore. Maybe that is partially due to cleaning them, which I never did with my other plates. We'll see how they hold up over time, but I have heavy rubber stall mats down, so I can't see durability being an issue. For the price and quality, I don't think there's much more value in the more "premium" brands. These are comparable to my Bells of Steel bumpers.
Looks great nice finish fit perfect. Rubber adds nice protection. Functional. Well worth it easy to grip. Used daily.
Llego bien.
These bumper plates are exactly what I was looking for! The 45-pound plate feels solid and well-balanced, and the rubber coating really makes a difference—it protects my floor and equipment without that strong rubber smell you sometimes get with other brands. The steel hub fits my Olympic bar snugly with no wobble, and the uniform size across different weights makes loading and unloading smooth. You can tell the construction is built to last. CAP has been around forever, and it shows in the quality of this plate. Perfect for heavy lifts, garage gyms, or just adding some durability to your setup. Definitely worth it!
