The Women's Montreal Down Coat is a knee-length, puffer-style piece designed for warmth and comfort in harsh conditions. This winter-ready jacket is insulated with 700 fill power down and protected with Down Defender - a moisture-resistant treatment that keeps the coat's insulation from clumping and losing its loft when exposed to wet environments, thus increasing its ability to keep you warm when the weather takes a turn for the worse. The Montreal is also outfitted with a zip-off hood featuring a removable synthetic fur ruff for a customizable look, a fleece-lined interior for added warmth and a plush feel, and microfleece-lined pockets and cuffs for keeping your extremities toasty. An internal zippered pocket holds your small accessories while the interior drop pocket offers more expansive storage should you need to stash larger items.
Perfect fit, incredibly comfortable and so light. Truly made for the Montreal winters.
It is stuffed full of fluffy down, very warm, holding in all your body heat. This coat is perfectly acceptable for the frigid below zero temperatures and the bone chilling , violent winds that whip us about here in Chicago. The extra details that mean everything when you have them are worth the extra cost. For example, where this coat touches your neck, chin and chest it’s lined with a thick, soft, comfy, warm lining material. This lining extends to the front left and right panels of the coat, extending to the waist, then wraps around to the whole upper back chest area to the waist and down inside of 2 (outer) of the 4 zippered pockets. There is also a sturdy, soft matching cuff that keeps air from rushing up your arms while keeping in your needed body heat. This coat does not reach my knees but hits me at my mid upper thigh. The zippers are very good quality, will last over many years of machine washes and tumbles in the dryer. The fur ruff removes easily for washing and is just as easy to put back on. My only complaint is the outer material. It is thin and stains easily. I bought the green color and I have had to wash this coat already. While holding a bag of take out on my lap, grease bled through the brown paper bag onto the bottom of my coat. I quickly put some liquid detergent on the stained area, removed the ruff and machine washed and dried the coat immediately. Unfortunately, the outline of the grease stain is still visible. This is not what I expected in a $300.00 coat. I have a similar coat from Eddie Bauer (EB) that washes and dries beautifully because the outer material is a much thicker, sturdier better quality material. The down fp is only 500 in the EB coat and sadly not as warm as Marmot . The EB coat has all of the above features that are very important to me, excellent zippers, soft, velour like lining that is on the upper inside of the coat, sleeve cuffs that keep heat in, drafts out and a functional hood with removable ruff. If EB only offered a red, 800 fp down coat, I wouldn’t have looked elsewhere. For the most part, this is a good, warm coat and I will wear it. I initially ordered a size M but returned it for a L, it was tight in the bust area. When bringing it back for an exchange, I sang it’s praises to several people standing in the Amazon return line at Kohl’s. You can easily see the quality of the coat and quantity of the down. My opinion changed only after I washed the coat.
Very well made jacket.
So warm and cozy. Had to size up because my usual size was too tight in the chest and the arm length was too short. It was pricey, but well worth it!
Sent me one without a tag and with stains. I was really disappointed.
Beyond stunning this is a beautiful coat very well made extremely warm gorgeous colour the zipper is easy to use and it’s warm really really warm. Hat drops low but I like that.
This is the second of these coats I have purchased. It’s like wearing a sleeping bag. It’s so warm and cosy but lightweight too.Has internal cuffs so no gusts of wind can blow up the arms, internal pockets one is zipped for securing items. The external pockets have zoos too.Fleece warm lining around the chest and back.It has a removable fur trim around the hood.I have machine washed mine (as per the manufacturer’s instructions) it came out looking brand new, dried well no clumps.I cannot recommend this coat highly enough!
This Mantel is very good looking! I bought it for my wife, she has M size, and it looks very well and slim! it doesn't look like any common and even more expensive mantels. We finally got what were looking for. Wife is happy so I am even more happy!)
Brilliant coat to replace the previous one after 8 years
I purchased this jacket for visiting Yellowstone National Park in May when it was still snowing, averaging mid-40s during the day and low-30s at night. Never once did I feel cold and it was great against some minor wind too. I also love the silver-white color of the Glacier Grey!Sizing was also not an issue in arms, butt or chest for me - 5’4,” weigh, 127-129 lbs, 27 pant, B cup, balanced arm length to my torso. I have somewhat of an hourglass shape - broader shoulders and a rather large behind for my size - and felt zero strain or restrictions wearing this jacket. It moved comfortably. I can see how others might struggle with this jacket fitting, it honestly felt like it was made for me minus it being a little longer for my height than I would like. I believe this jacket is best suited for those between heights of 5-5’7” and weight 110-150 lbs, A-C cups, 24-29 pant. If you are larger in the chest, arms or waist/hips then this jacket probably won’t work for you.My only complaint was how it was shipped - the jacket was a complete nightmare upon arrival because of adhesive on the protective bag was open and got stuck to the entire right arm of the jacket. Someone had clearly opened and returned it, possibly had been returned a few times, because the bag was pretty beat up and the adhesive was covered in dirty lint/fuzz. When peeling it off the jacket, it left a horribly dark, sticky residue. We were leaving for our trip the next day and I needed this jacket, so I busted out the Goo Gone and sat for about 30 minutes scrapping the sticky stuff off with a cuticle pusher and then scrubbing at the last parts with stain remover. It came off without leaving any stains, but ever-so-slighty the technical weave of the jacket’s material was broken by rubbing it too hard with the metal cuticle tool. Needless to say, I shouldn’t have had to go about cleaning and repairing my own jacket, but I also didn’t care enough to return it since it was going to be worn outdoors in the elements.
Great coat! so warm and stylish and fluffy and comfortable, wore it in cold iceland and was so warm!
As others have noted I’m not too pleased with how thin the outer shell is. They really cheeped out but if you wear it in settings where rugged durability isn’t needed too much… it’s a very warm jacket. Seems to me it runs quite small for the size so don’t be surprised to go up at least one if not two sizes more than other brands. All in all glad to have it but did got on a pre-Christmas sale. It is very warm! I would look for a more rugged jacket next time but if I couldn’t find one for a similar price I would definitely buy again.
