I'm a little jealous ,i got this new pole for my partner. It's beautiful green, smooth casting and lightweight! I don't understand why the 2 tips though. is it a different tip or just an extra one?

I could not backlash this reel, and I tried. Unbelievable reel for the money. I own the Shimano Curado DC and a Kastking iReel. So, I can compare. I'm a little mad that I could have bought this reel first and saved money. Oh well! Casting distance the same, they all seem very smooth to reel. You can dial in tension and mag strength with each lure. Mag strength for me was more of a casting ' Distance ' brake for the bait you are throwing. The Curado and iReel have this reel beat with ease of use and more features, but as far as backlash when casting...........the same. Buy this reel and have fun fishing a baitcaster!!!!

Love this combo worth the money

Can’t imagine this Rod standing up to any fish weighing more than a lb. Super light tip section that broke upon unpacking.

Works great, Would recommend for the price and have caught a few fish on it.

Giving it 4 stars to start. This is based on how Kastking packages the rod and reel. Rod was in a very tough cardboard tube to protect it and it is reusable. Bought this for my wife and a upcoming fishing vacation to the chesapeake bay. The rod is very nice looking super bright and feels good in hand.What I liked about it was the 2 different rod tops M and MH gives you the ability to change your tactics depending on the species and bite. The reel feels good and when mounted to the rod balances very well. I am impressed with this spinning combo. Will update after our trip.

I was very impressed with the quality of this rod and the reel combo. It arrived very well packaged. I looked both the rod and reel over thoroughly and only found one defect. There were two small imperfections or chips in the finish of the bottom section of the rod. These imperfections are extremely minor and I only mention them due to the fact that the rest of the rod was perfect. I didn't expect this nice of a finish on an inexpensive rod. The reel was also very nicely finished. I especially like the markings on the brake adjustment. They make it very easy to repeat settings when changing end tackle. I tested the rod and reel out salt water inshore bottom fishing yesterday. I put 15 pound braid on the reel with 5 feet of 30lb leader snelled to a #1 circle hook. One feature that I immediately noticed was the hook keeper was hook shaped instead of the common loop. This is wonderful as I often leave home with just a swivel or loop on the end of my leader. I was able to place the loop over the keeper instead of over a handle like I usually have to do. While fishing, the plastic reel holder held the reel tight and did not loosen like other inexpensive rods I have fished. The drag on the reel was very smooth tensioned uniformly in strength as adjusted. At one point, I snagged the bottom while drifting with a strong current. This rapidly bent the rod right over. I was able to tighten the drag until it held and actually snapped my circle hook leaving me with intact rod, reel, line, leader and half of a snelled hook. I never intended to test the rod to that capacity, but was impressed that it held up. The rod and reel felt nice and light in my hand and felt good. I do not have large hands, but was able to drop line and reset just using my thumb. I found the reel easy to adjust and cast both a live shrimp and live shrimp with a 2 ounce weight. I hung a five pound dumbbell on the line to test the rod and reel as well. Both rod tips handled the weight with out a problem, but the line does come in contact with the pole as it is beyond the intended limit. This also allowed me to play with drag settings. The drag adjustment was very smooth and increased consistently rather than just locking up like cheap reels will. I intend to keep this combo with both tips in my Jeep for the unexpected fishing trips. The light tip will be perfect for panfish in the ponds and the heavier tip will be great for pulling bass out of the weeds. I may even bring it on the occasional light salt water trip again. I think it will be perfect for casting under the mangroves for snapper.

Couldn't be more pleased with kastking. i have almost all kastking baitcaster and they all get used. Just a little bit of tuning and they are flawless reels
