Why did you pick this product vs others?:Replacing a 15 year old Brother multi machine and hope to have as good of service out of this one. Only issue so far and really not an issue is the old machine glass for scanner was larger to allow the scanning of a legal size 8.5X14 document. This one is 8.5X11 only. It will pull a legal size in and scan and print legal size output so not really an issue as long as the pull paper thru scanner will work for years to come. Potential issue down the road.
I recently upgraded my brother printer to this beast! It has been a lifesaver with work. The printing and scanning is so fast compared to the older model. Very happy with this printer.
Great for office, easy setup, works well
Beware, Brother has decided that it will brick your printer if you dont replace the toner when they say so. The prints were perfectly fine when it decided to stop printing. I have confirmed with Brother that there is no override or setting for "Replace Toner". Categorize this product as e waste.
It appears every printer out there does not get top reviews. :) When HP decided to NOT let you print without setting up an account with them, they lost a computer shop that'd been with them for 20 years. Now, for this printer, Setup went without issue, I even got it to print from windows 7 using an older driver that looked close. ha I bought it for the scanner mostly and can scan to computer, or network share. All went without a hitch and the prints are fast and look good. I like this printer!! I did take off one point as the printer will only take an admin password of their choosing. In other words, the printer thinks it's your daddy and should control what you may use as a password. Not acceptable.. I have a 15 digit password with characters and Uppercase, yet it insisted I couldn't have 3 consecutive numbers of which there was one set of 3.
This all in one printer was very easy to set up. it prints fast and and has very good quality Prints, the scanning also works very fast and I have it set up to save in a file as PDF for the money it is a very good item, their are 2sisizes of paper the you can load in to paper supply 8.5 x 11 and 8.5 x 14
I bought this to replace an older model that had a couple broken pieces (otherwise I would have kept it.)The print quality is great as long as I am using plain white paper. On bond paper/letterhead, it looks a little fuzzy. Then if I go to scan anything that is printed on bond paper, the fuzziness becomes really obvious - many documents that I scan have fuzzy edges.Print quality for envelopes is terrible! It is causing streaks and the address is very faint. I don't understand why, because printing on plain white paper is very crisp. But it really can't print on any other type of paper - white envelopes and bond envelopes are equally faint and streaky. I print a lot of envelopes daily, so this is a deal breaker for me.The scanner glass is only letter-sized. This was advertised as being able to handle letter and legal sizes. It can print legal size, and can scan legal size through the feeder, but you can't put a legal-sized document on the glass. I often have clients bring in older legal-sized documents that don't go through the feeder easily without ripping, so I prefer to have those scanned using the glass. This machine can't accommodate that.Unfortunately, I will have to return it.
I've had a similar Brother printer for 8 or so years, and the cost of fixing it was getting out of hand. Time for a new Brother! I tried one. before this and sent it back. While this unit is not the cheapest, it's a worth for sure. The print quality is excellent, the unit works with a cable or wireless (I just plugged in the cable since I already had it working that way). It's easy to use and has a shortcut setup that will save your favorite setting, which I use all the time. The copier and feeder are both excellent. I highly recommend this printer. Thank you, Brother.
Every time I go to Scan using the feeder it always come up with a message that says a problem has occurred with the scanner please try again. I bought it for the scanner and cannot use it
