This is a really nice printer, and once your realize it's disposable, it's even better! Amazon routinely puts it on sale for right around $300 and it comes with the toner cartridges. A new set of toner cartridges will cost you right around $400 for the HP ones. Thanks to HP's unending love affair with digital rights management, you will have to buy their brand unless you follow these instructions. From the moment you power this printer on, navigate through the menu to the firmware update screen. They hide it, and they're always moving it, so look around. Turn automatic firmware updates off. Now you can use whatever knockoff cartridges you like, which will cost you about $120 for the set. If you're like me, and you don't know this going in then you're going to get a firmware update and be stuck forever with HP's ripoff business model. Or are you? Since the printer (with cartridges) costs less than the cartridges alone, you can always dumpsterize the thing when the toner runs out and buy another one! It's a win-win for everyone but the environment. You would think HP might care about that, but naaaah. There's overpriced toner to sell!

This printer has been a fantastic addition to my home office. It’s efficient, reliable, and delivers top-notch print quality.WHY IT’S GREAT:⭐️ SUPER EFFICIENT PERFORMANCEThe printer works seamlessly and handles high-volume printing with ease.⭐️ IMPRESSIVE PRINT QUALITYEvery document comes out sharp and professional-looking—perfect for work or personal use.⭐️ LONG-LASTING INK SUPPLYIt comes with enough ink to last a good while, even for heavy users like me.⭐️ HIGHLY RECOMMENDWhile replacement ink can be pricey, the initial supply stretches far, making it worth the investment.IF YOU WANT A RELIABLE PRINTER THAT PERFORMS BEAUTIFULLY, THIS IS THE ONE!
This is the absolute worst printer I have ever used. It freezes, glitches, and constantly needs to be restarted. Contact with HP Support has been the opposite of helpful. HP in general is a company I will go out of my way to avoid in the future. I would absolutely recommend this product to someone, if you hate them. 5 stars so my review actually shows up and people read it.
First, I only buy HP Laser printers because of quality and reliability. This printer has wireless and ethernet options but it's one or the other not both by design. I have it connected to a network, and it prints sometimes, not very reliable. Other printers on my network are fine, it's just this one. Overall, it has very little features and display is monochrome, and very slow from the time I hit print it can take several minutes until the printer starts processing. The quality is Ok, would not recommend for a network because the IP connection will drop when idle. Microsoft troubleshooting says it needs to be the default printer to keep the connection up so the job will go to the printer. Weird the print queue will just hold the job if it's not the default printer (even though it was selected for the print job). My previous HP 522 printer worked well in the same environment. This was to be a replacement after the 522 became expensive to fix, but I cannot recommend this to anyone using a home network. I can get the printer working but come back tomorrow and I am running pings and reinstalling the driver again. It will work each time I install the driver for a day. Very poor product for a printer with the HP name on it. I am using Windows 10 Pro on Notebook and Desktop. Would gladly pay double for a reliable printer that does not require an IT Admin to keep it printing. Users in small office driving me crazy - guess what is about to be tossed out.
Works well out of box. Quiet. Easy to set up. Color quality fine - still haven't had to install the standard color cartridges but black one ran out quickly as expected. (Although for the price you would think they could include standard cartridges!) It loses connection with the wifi if not used within 1-2 days and has to be turned off and restarted.
The first month or so of owning this printer, I would’ve given it 5 stars. The starter cartridges it came with put out AMAZING prints. Then one day, they run out and I’ve only ever replaced them with the same HP brand 218a cartridges. The first time i bought the XL version of each cartridge totaling somewhere around $500). After replacing, prints came out terrible and I mean AWFUL! Colors were way off half the page was faded to blank , unlegible even. I figured, hmm, I must’ve gotten a bad cartridge (or cartridges) even though they were unopened/sealed from HP. Nonetheless, I threw them all out, then bought a new set of the regular 218a HP brand cartridges (totaling $300-400). Installed them in the printer, and wouldn’t u know the prints still came just as bad as they were before. So in total I’ve spent well over $1,000 on this printer to not even use it anymore. I’ve tried trouble shooting every possibility every trick in the book, to no avail. I think it’s shady of HP that CLEARLY the starter cartridges the printer came with are of far better quality than those they provide as replacements, leading you to believe you have a great printer until u replace the ink. By that point, it’s too late to return, I’ve wasted over $1,000 over this garbage printer & toners, and still am unable to print one single page of a properly colored print out.. I was a fan of HP printers all my life but this purchase/experience may have just added them to my blacklist of “will never buy again” if it’s got the “HP” logo on it. They’re theirs and clearly have some deviant practices going on, from my experience. So in conclusion, my message would be to avoid this printer at all costs. Don’t trust Amazon’s “preferred choice” logo that I fell for and trusted. I wish someone would have informed me these issues before I bought this thing - i would’ve saved over a grand that’s been stolen from me, along with all the headaches.
Plug and play pretty much. Quality of pages are great and the value is great because it's the cheapest colour laser printer I found.
La peor impresora. Imposible comprar los cartuchos en México
Great printer for the price I paid through Amazon
HP never disappoints!! Other than the cartridges costing more than the printer itself, this unit has never not worked for me.
installed very easy. Quality of printing perfect.
