Q-Collar is an indispensable new device to help athletes reduce injuries. It seems extremely well made and it's very easy to fit the right size. I bought one for a family member who is playing high school lacrosse this year and he says he now will never play without it. It took him about 5 minutes to get used to wearing it and he reports he feels significantly better during and after a game. Definitely getting one for his younger sister who is very serious about soccer. Other kids in the family play football and hockey and they all will wear one! I feel so much better about their athletic activities now that they have this new protection for the brain. Ordered it and received it the very next day.
I bought this because I have POTS and I heard a Standing Up to POTS podcast episode (episode 25) that discussed this as a possible management tool. Today I was extra unsteady due to a prestorm barometric change. I went to the grocery store (not wearing the collar) and had a fall almost immediately. I then put on the q-collar (and also took salt and started chugging water). The line was the hellish extra long wrapped around the store pre snow storm line that I usually fall in a few times and sometimes can't stay in because I can't stay upright. This time with the q-collar although I had one or two almost collapses I was able to stay upright with the help of the shopping cart and my service dog (and doing some leg bend countermanuevres) Got the 4 blocks home without falling on the way. Much better than previously without the collar.Only criticisms: I measured carefully 6 times and it was still the wrong size had to return and buy the size down, although Prime made that easy. The measuring tool that comes with it helps. It also creates instant crone face which is unfortunate. It pushes the neck flesh forward into the world's most exaggerated multilayer double chin. Then my face filled up with fluid and got a little red. I looked 15 years older. If anyone out there is auditioning to be a Macbeth witch this product will take your look to the next level. It was like instant scary wrinkly puffy witch face. But I'm going to keep using it because looking bad is better than people seeing me sitting on the floor in the grocery line and assuming I'm homeless and high on drugs. The first time I tried it on there was an awful being strangled feeling that persisted for 4 or 5 hours after. That did NOT happen this time. Not sure if that was because I sized DOWN (after the measuring tool that it came with said mine was too big) and so now it hits a better part of my neck, or if my body is just learning to filter out the sensation. For me it was worth trying it again even though it felt bad the first time. It did get better. For folks with EDS I could see pushing neck vertebrae out of alignment as a potential issue. My neck definitely cracked a little although I think my slippery vertebrae is still where it is supposed to be.It's black not black and green like the picture. It comes with a really nice carrying case.Later in the evening I walked the dog in the snow and was grateful that if I did slip and fall Is have at least a little concussion protection.
Both my sons play tackle football and are the hardest hitting players on their teams. One of them suffered a concussion without the q collar and one suffered one with it. My son without had shooting pain in his head for 2 weeks, my other son who was wearing his was symptom free after a day. Now we’ve added the guardian helmet cover to the q collar, never can eliminate 100% of the risk but these items can help reduce the severity significantly in my opinion
The real qcollar is made in Wisconsin USA, the one 1️⃣ bought on Amazon was made in China! Not sure if it will work the same! Correction, looks like it’s only the case that was made in China!
Quality item designed to protect athletes, with FDA clearance. Comfortable to wear with no side effects. Gives me peace of mind as a parent. I see more and more professional athletes wearing the Q-collar. High school and college athletics can be rough, with lots of contact. The brain is last thing I want my child to injure.
I don't review a lot of products but i wanted to spread the word about my use case for this device and how it's changed my life.I think most people look at this product as something that only benefits you if take a hit. However i have orthostatic intolerance caused by hypotension. And i basically had to give up the gym a couple years ago because going from sitting to standing, bending or turning caused me to get light headed and made me a fall risk.At a recent appointment with a doctor at Mayo clinic they recommended this device to keep the blood from rushing out of my head.I was reluctant because of the cost but after going back for a group fitness class and struggling i decided to give it a shot.It works and it's life changing. I do alot of cardio dance that involves bending and snapping up, spins/turns and things that cause an episode. I loved my chosen format and was very sad to give up. But this device takes the tunnel vision completely away and i can tolerate a 60 min high cardio class with no issues. It's given me back a lot of joy and I hope more people with OI or POTS find it and try it!The only thing i wish is that you had a version that was more business appropriate so i could wear it when doing presentations at work. :)
It was a nice addition to my sons safety.
My son wears this every year practice and game. Makes him feel more comfortable playing since he previously had a concussion.

How are we different
In what sports can the Q-Collar be worn for additional protection?
The Q-Collar is designed for any sport with head impact risks, including football, lacrosse, soccer, hockey, skiing, snowboarding, basketball, volleyball, equestrian, rugby, baseball, softball, field hockey, roller derby, boxing, and other sports.
How does a Q-Collar compare to a helmet or other devices?
While helmets protect the skull from external injuries, the Q-Collar helps stabilize the brain internally by applying light pressure to the jugular veins, safely reducing brain movement upon impact.
How does the Q-Collar work with existing sports equipment?
The Q-Collar is designed to be worn comfortably with other protective gear, fitting below helmets and above shoulder pads, and seamlessly under neck guards without interfering with their functionality.
Does the Q-Collar impact athlete performance?
Studies demonstrated that wearing the Q-Collar has no negative impact on athletic performance, including strength, endurance, balance, or reaction times!
