08-03-2026The metal bracket on the reel (the handle you use to reel in) was twisted. Wasn’t able to do a full rotation without scraping the cover of the line. Had to take it off and put it in a vice to twist it back straight, once that was done it worked great.

08-03-2026We bought this rod and reel for our daughter. First upgrade from the snoopy kids fishing pole. She likes the easy casting. I think the rod is too long and has a sloppy action. Other than that it’s the prefect low cost upgrade for kids

08-03-2026Great price for a gx2 rod. I purchased the 5’6 medium combo. Arrived in good working order! I’m a big fan of uglystik rods. Some people are saying the reel is cheap which it is, but the rod alone is worth it. For what you get it’s easy to purchase a nicer reel.
