I borrowed 3-pound ankle weights from my wife for my physical therapy exercises for my injured right knee at home. They were fine, but they ended up being too light over time. I like the quality of her weights, so I looked at other Nordic Lifting ankle weights. Instead, I looked at ones that allowed flexible/multiple weights and selected these. Now I can increase the weights as my knee gets stronger (even use two ankle weights on one leg if necessary for physical therapy).
Expectation met
Update: Nordic offered to refund my purchase without me reaching out to them. You know a good company by how they treat you after your purchase. I think you can feel assured doing business with them.My First review:With all weights in place I have had issues getting them tight and keeping in place. They work well enough for my leg workouts but they move around as I do my walks, can't imagine what it would be like if one was a runner. In all fairness if I take out the middle weight its still at 4 LBS and fits better, if you take out the two that are second from the last weights, you still have 3 LBS they stay in place and fit better, so I will keep them. 5 LBS is actually a lot for walking, at least for me so I will keep them because with the weight changes I spoke about above they work also on my arms (4 BLS) and wrists (3 LBS).
Why did you pick this product vs others?:Ankle weights arrived today. Packaged very well. I looked at the weights closely to see if the stitching was good and everything looks great. Velcro seems to be very secure and I picked these because use also put the strap thru a key ring to help. These ankle weights come with the full 5 pounds inserted and these are heavy, so the stitching, velcro and quality would be very important. So far, it passes the test. Highly recommend you consider buying these as they seem even better than the ones I use at the gym.
The ankle weights are just that. They seem to be of good quality and have worked as they should. The real star however is the companies customer service. That is EXCEPTIONAL! The package we initially received contained only one weight. We sent an email and had a reply within an hour or so. They asked for a few pictures and immediately sent out a replacement in less than 24 hours. We received the new package in less than 48hrs! I wish more companies had this level of customer service.
Updated 5/16/25I still love the idea of these weights, but as I recover and add weights to these, I’m finding that the Velcro-type closure does not stay attached during workouts. The problem began when I added in the 3rd pound weight. After a few minutes of movement, one or both will fall off my ankles. It’s a minor inconvenience, except that it’s disrupting my flow.A secondary issue that is probably only going to be relevant to those with arthritis or carpal tunnel syndrome, but adding in the little sandbags is very difficult. I still love the concept, but it’s not great in practice for me.Wonderfully Adjustable!I recently spent time recovering from a health crisis in a skilled nursing facility, where I had regular physical therapy. Obviously, they had a wide variety of weights. Upon returning home, I started looking at leg weights but I hated the idea of having multiple pairs of varying weights to purchase and store as I regain strength. I was delighted to find a selection of adjustable leg weights!I love everything about these weights except for the difficulty in adding weights back to each side. It’s probably not difficult if you don’t have arthritis, or issues with the functionality of your hands. The soft flexibility of the sandbags means they don’t go into the pockets really smoothly.Aside from that, which is an issue specific to me, these are awesome. I’m so glad I bought them, and someday I might upgrade to a heavier set. They come in lots of different colors, and I chose a pretty pink to match my adjustable hand weights!
taking the weight bags in and out is a bit of a chore but the product works well and is confortible to wear all day. I suffer from muscular atrophy in my right leg so I bought these to wear to help strenghten the muscles slowly. work very well.
Excellent build quality.....Seems like it will last!!!!
