wood push up stands
This set of pushup bars is well constructed and heavy duty in nature. There’s several versatile exercises you can do with these, so they can be used for more than just traditional push ups. One of the bar ends seems misaligned so although it functions ok, it’s not flush in the bracket. For this price point I would have expected perfect construction. Otherwise, the wood is super smooth, which I am happy for since I’ve opted not use you the anti-slip tape as I don’t like the pattern/colors.
These are great, here's a pros/cons list:pros:- bigger than I expected which is a good thing because it gives you space to go down further than you would normally or do different things with them like the sitting pose- extremely sturdy, I cannot imagine any situation in which these would break from normal use, or even abnormal use. I feel like you'd need to hit it with a sledge hammer to do real damage- The grip tape definitely eases the hardness of the wood handles but not by a ton- easy to leave out or move around so you can always just knock out a few pushups- very stable because of the wide bases, not that I could, but I'd feel comfortable doing something like handstand on these knowing that they wont tip over.cons:- The welds on mine are REALLY crooked, like if you put them right next to each other so the handles are lined up, there is a large gap between the bases because they're both welded like 5-10 degrees askew. I can't think of a reason why this is intentional and it doesn't really affect the usability so not that big of a deal- the handles can be a bit hard even with the grip tape but there are plenty of ways to deal with this and again not that big of a deal to meoverall I do recommend but if the weld thing would bother you, maybe try a different set. Realistically would have rated 4.5 just for the cosmetic build quality
The wood handles were smooth. No splinters on them, and the finish on the metal was good as well with no burrs or bare spots. Easy to put together, and the wrap comes separately so it is up to you whether to attach it to the handles or not. Value is the same as the other style from the same line.
Wood and metal push up assistive device. Very sturdy and stable. Good grip. Work great. Good gift idea.
These are very sturdy, and a lot larger than I thought they would be. I was not expecting the heft of the package when I picked it up off the porch. These are mostly wood/steel with fasteners and some stick-on pads. I'm glad the bar wrap was not pre-applied as I prefer the natural wood for my use. They are tall enough that you can get pretty deep into a push up.So why not 5 stars? The welding on 2 of the bar ends are mis-aligned, see the photo, this is going to bug me every time I use them. The plastic inserts in the steel ends are also not flush with the steel, and one end of one of the bars is narrower than the others. At least they don't rock, they are flat at all points to the ground. For the price I expect these to be pretty much perfect, but at least they are functional.
My wife ordered a different style of these bars, and they were great. But this style, not so much. The way the brace is welded to support the bar doesn't seem as sturdy as the other set. The bigger problem though is one of the bars isn't shaved down enough to fit properly into the side brace. I tried three different brace pieces, so the problem does seem to be with the wood. You can see what I mean in the picture. The front bar on the right side shows the shaved down portion of the wood and how much isn't securely able to fit into the brace. If you see the T-style ones from the same company, they're much better than this style.
I have another set of these that is shorter that I use for push-ups. These I use for standing on and doing foot stretches and leg lift calf exercises. They're great for elevating high enough off the floor to be able to do all kinds of lower leg exercises. They came with some wrapping tape which is basically just stretchy binding tape that you can use for other uses for yourself or pets because I personally don't feel the need to wrap the beautiful Beechwood posts. I like feeling the wood on my feet and they don't need additional traction. If your hands get very sweaty though and you're going to be using these for push-ups or handstands then you probably would want to use the wrapping tape. I love the fact that these are highly portable so you can use them in any room, while doing other things like watching a show or listening to music etc. If you have a stand-up desk you could even be using them below your feet while you're working on the computer. And these are actually a very great price as well. Compared to the other ones that I got that are shorter which were about twice the price these are almost identical in design but they're longer and taller off the ground so they have more functionality. Overall highly recommended as a very simple inexpensive tool to add to your home gym workouts or wherever you exercise.
The foam on my old bars were splitting, so I got these. The bars themselves are thicker than regular ones. The wood and metal are nice, and the pushup bars seem sturdy. They were easy to put together, a little taller than regular pushup bars.
