Slip the revamped Daylite Sling over your shoulder and set off. This versatile carry now boasts an easy-access cell phone sleeve on the shoulder strap, dual side zippers, and fresh daisy chain details. Breathable, soft spacermesh material ensures next-to-skin comfort. It's a blend of convenience, style, and functionality, all in a sleek package. A bluesign PRODUCT.
Perfect little day sack, fits a bottle of water, thin jacket and a snack in the main zip and little bits and bobs in the smaller sections.Comfortable to wear too.
It's a nice one-shoulder backpack, comfortable to wear and can hold quite a lot of stuff (for me a Nikon P-900 fits in with 1L water flask and several small pieces of equipment: key, wallet, sunglasses in case etc.). So for my use case it's more than enough for summer day trips, or nice strolls in cities' historical downtown during a summer holiday. It likely would not be large enough in cooler weather, if I wanted to pack a pullover or similar warmer clothes. The quality is great, but that's why I bought an Osprey (again).
The Osprey sling pack is a well made, right-sized Sling Pack that is comfortable to wear (rear padding durable yet adequate, and strap wide and thick enough to be strong yet comfortable) and that looks good. Adequate volume for most typical travel items in main pocket, and an adequately sized front pocket for quick access to documents (like passport, tickets, and so on) and wallet. There's even a pocket on the strap useful for a snack bar or electrolyte tablets. Zippers work smoothly, although they aren't waterproof, but likely neither is the pack. Don't overlook the loops around the periphery. One can attach shock-cord loops with cord locks to tether items like rain gear, or use the plastic fastener clips on water bottle pockets to attach the pocket and carry a suitable water bottle on the outside of the sling pack. All-in-all, the Osprey sling pack is attractive and functional.
Bought this a a gift for my adult son who commutes via bike and electric scooter to work in a major city. Osprey is a good brand. The product is well made, with strong materials. The cross-body bag is just the right size to hold everyday items snugly and safely while traveling without the bulk of a full backpack. Double zippers can accept small, TSA locks to prevent pickpocketing. Inside pockets keep contents well organized. Don’t expect a padded compartment for electronics. Very pleased.
I was using a SCOTTeVEST for work trips but was finding that it is uncomfortable to wear in such small airplane seats with all the items I want to retain with me in my seat to travel comfortably. I was looking for an alternative and since I already travel with an Osprey Porter 30 as my carry on, I decided to look at the company’s other offerings. I found this and decided to give it a try. Everything that I’m carrying in my vest fits in this sling bag. While my Porter 30 is the overhead, I had access to all my items such as a one liter bottle of Aquafina water, a 12 oz orange juice, Apple AirPods Pro, portable battery charger, airline seat phone mount, stylus pen, Chapstick, Vicks Vapo-Inhaler, packets of Splenda, my wallet, work credentials, work iPhone, and a can of Copenhagen. My travel experience improved significantly and I am able to sit in my economy airline seat comfortably. The vest was cool and still works for keeping warm but with all that I carry, it started to feel like a drag. Plus now without out the vest, I don’t have all these strangers approaching me and pestering me about whether I am going on a fishing trip, which I am not ever going to. Sure the vest is a conversation starter to talk about fishing but I don’t partake in that. This Osprey sling is now my second carry on in addition to my Porter 30. There are two pockets with dual zippers and a zip up pocket on the sling. I am able to wear this comfortably with the main body on chest while wearing my Porter 30 on my back. It is a 5 liter size, so keep that in mind. The materials appear to be of high quality and I am very satisfied that I bought this. Looking forward to using on all my trips. Highly recommended.
Better than expected
Can’t argue with the content of Amazon reviews. I chose this sling bag based mostly on the reviews… can’t say they were wrong so far. Very impressed with the quality, the colour and the fit of the bag both carried on the back and on the front. Feels perfect. Osprey is known for their longevity and sturdy build. This seems to be no exception. Shipped super fast from the USA.
Love this bag! It's very sturdy, and fits many items. I use it as a bag for hiking mostly and wear it on the front to keep things within reach when I wear a backpack. It's great to wear on bike rides too. the shouler pads make it super comfortable to wear all day without skinny straps sticking into the shoulder. My only complaint is that the pocket on the shoulder strap should be a bit roomier. I like to put my phone in there and I have a very old, smaller phone. I dont think the monster size phones would fit. I own 3 Osprey bags and they are always top quality!
Excellent quality. Will work great for small hiking trips.
I have been a fan of Osprey gear for several years. My wife and I each have Osprey daypacks, and I use an Osprey lumbar pack on shorter jaunts. The build quality is fantastic, the design is thoughtful, and they offer items that fit the size and application I am looking for. This Daylite Sling fits the bill almost perfectly. I wanted a lightweight and comfortable sling bag which offers ample room for the stuff I like to carry with me through the day. (I wanted to move much of my EDC gear from my pockets to a sling, particularly for summer weather and travel.) This bag has two main compartments, along with a smaller mesh compartment and divider inside the main section. There is a small zippered storage compartment on the strap which, honestly, doesn't do much for me...but I am sure others might find it useful. My one wish is that the internal divider in the main compartment included some small pockets for pens, pencils, etc. The sling I was replacing had that feature, and it was really nice for organization. I fixed the situation by ordering a Maxpedition 4x6 Platy to stow small items. Drop the Platy inside the main sling bag compartment and I'm good to go!I bought the sling on a Prime Day special, so that definitely sweetened the value for the money.I definitely recommend the Daylite Sling.
The bag is wonderful, cute, and useful. Has the right amount of pockets and the strap is adjustable! A note, the color of the bag appears to be more of a dark grey, not a true black.
