08-03-2026Well, I purchased this beautiful belt because I really like the "zip-tie" technique used to adjust it for a snug, comfortable fit, and it stays in place until you release it. This is when I realized being a man is really cool. Us men are smart and thrive on figuring things out on our own (we don't need no instructions ), but it just takes longer before you can use it for best results.However (MEN!!!! And pay close attention here), in this particular situation, I definitely should have taken the time to read the instructions before strapping this puppy on because once on, I couldn't figure out how to unlock and release the damn thing. Normally, spending several minutes trying to figure out how to open and remove the belt without reading instructions would be fun and rewarding, but I forgot that just 4 hours ago I had a bowl of red cabbage, broccoli and cauliflower, followed by a nice cold glass of prune juice and my tummy was gurgling. Not a good situation to be in when you can’t get your pants off quick enough. I fought and fought to unlock this thing, and at a complete loss for how I got into this situation. I had the belt tight enough to hold my plants up and not slip down over my hip, so I was trapped.Well, after my embarrassing situation, I finally figured out how this belt unlocks. There's a small lever hidden underneath the buckle that you likely won't figure out how it works until you read the instructions, and definitely will never figure out when faced with an emergency and panic sets in.My initial response to rate this belt would be 1 star, but after reading the instructions, I can unlock this thing instantly. Only wish I knew that early on. I now give this belt 5 stars for it's strength, durability and it's wash machine safe.I hope you learned something here today because I wouldn't wish this on anyone.Enjoy, and, please, read them damn instructions. 08-03-2026this is my 2nd pair of ratchet belts from different vendors. what i find is that all the ratchet belts are basically the same. it does take little bit of time to get used to the mechanism on the bottom of the buckle. what i do is the pull the lever forward while holding the end of the belt and let the belt out a few notches to get the pants off. i purchased the 42"-48" belts and i am very happy with that choice. most of the belts say they are leather, and most are a stiff feel. hopefully the belts will last. i do like the blue better than the black.
