As an adult ice skater, I was getting tired of wearing thick beanies to the rink to protect my head in case I fall backwards and hit my head. The beanies were very heavy and made my head sweat. This protective headband gives me the same level of peace of mind knowing that my head is protected but without my whole head sweating.

My teenage daughter is a goalie for her school and recreational soccer leagues. I'm proud of her, and that is not a position to be excited to watch your kid take on when you have issues with anxiety. I was so excited when I came upon this as it offers an extra level of protection for the head, and that may not be needed all the time, but this is a game changer for when it IS needed. My next concern was if my daughter was willing to wear it or not. She doesn't love wearing it, but she has used it a few times. I like that it is thick and sturdy enough that it offers protection, but it's not so outrageous that it looks particularly goofy. It isn't much bigger than a sweatband or head band, though it's big enough that it wouldn't be mistaken for one up close either, but from far away, it definitely just looks like that. Even close up, it might not look particularly "cool" (which is why these should become just mandatory, as lots of sports gear doesn't look cool until everyone has to wear it) but it isn't too embarrassing to wear either. Please, lets make these more popular out there to help protect our kids. It was super easy to use, stayed in place and wasn't overly hot. My daughter said it was pretty comfortable except maybe slightly tight, but I think it kind-of has to be to stay in place and work. Again, the injuries this could save give it the greatest value, which is basically priceless. We are both pleased. Definitely worth trying if you are considering it.

I play a contact sport where concussions are, unfortunately some of the most common injuries. This headband feels like it will provide some protection from ground contact. It's just a band of very dense foam, about as low-profile as you can get in this type of headgear. I tested it by punching a wall with it, and it definitely distributed some of the force. My only concern is that it runs a bit tight. I generally have a smaller head, and the Medium was pretty tight. I may forget about it in the midst of a game, but testing it around the house it was definitely uncomfortable. The band's not adjustable, so check the sizing carefully.

After a head injury in soccer, we needed something effective for my son for head protection. We really like this one. It’s light and he said it doesn’t bother him while playing. Only down side, is it makes him hotter when playing on warm days.

As a soccer parent, you always have to worry about an injury from contact or just from heading the ball. Having your player wear a quality head guard really can make all the difference. I am pleased with the construction and fit of this one. It runs a bit small, but it still fit well. Definitely recommend, I hope that this helps.

The ImpactRx Head Guard seems like a solid option for helping to prevent head injuries in soccer and other sports. However, we encountered a few issues that have made it difficult for my 9-year-old son to use so far.Fit & Comfort:We ordered the medium size, and while my son’s head circumference is 55 cm (right at the upper limit for this size), the headband is a bit too tight for him. This has discouraged him from wearing it during games. I wish the design included some form of adjustability, like a Velcro strap or elastic section with overlapping protective foam, to ensure a more comfortable and customizable fit.Materials & Protection:The foam padding is impressive—it’s soft to the touch but hardens upon impact to better distribute the force of a blow. This gives me confidence in its ability to protect during gameplay. The headband is thick, which is great for safety, but it also means it could get sweaty quickly during extended use.Maintenance:The requirement to hand wash the headband is inconvenient. I understand not being able to machine-dry it, but being able to throw it in the washing machine would make maintenance much easier, especially for something that will inevitably get sweaty.Overall Thoughts:This is a quality product with effective impact protection, but it could benefit greatly from a few design updates to improve fit and convenience. If it stretches out over time and becomes more comfortable, I think it will be a great addition to my son’s soccer gear. For now, I’d recommend it with reservations for those who are near the upper end of the size chart or prefer low-maintenance gear. Debating between 3 & 4 stars. I'll go with 4 for now and report back after he tries it in a game.
