I had a pentalobe screw on an iPhone that stripped and I wasn’t able to get it removed to change the battery. I tried the old rubber band trick, super glue, pliers, and a polishing tool to initially make a slot. I finally found this kit and was skeptical since it was cheap, but it actually worked. In 5 minutes, I made a slot on the top of the screw and had it removed. Bunch of tips, couple of flat heads, and a pretty durable mini Dremel. Definitely recommend.
I had a tiny cell phone battery that was stripped. Even the smallest "easy-out" drill bit kits didn't work - just made a wide hole in the center of the screw head. All I had was a thin rim of metal left around the edges of the screw head by the time I tried this device, so it was a matter of making a slit in each side of that, and making sure they lined up with each other. The screw was slightly recessed, so it was the second-smallest bit that was wide enough to reach down far enough without hitting the metal parts around the recessed area. Once I'd done that, careful use of a small flathead screwdriver got that screw right out. I was so relieved! Harbor Freight and other hardware stores should carry this great little device!I can't say how well it'll hold up over time, but it was honestly worth the price even just for the one use.
I was able to use this grinder tool with its 1mm tip to undo 4 stripped screws holding the plate of the back glass ribbon. Keep in mind that these 4 screws are the smallest 3 prongs screws of the Iphone pro max. They're so small that I had to use a magnifier. So if it works with these tiny screws, I'm sure it would work with every others in the phone.Good product! and strongly recommended.Note: I'm not paid or given this product to review. This is directly from a customer who feel this underrated tool should be shown that it really works.
It worked great. I was able to remove iPhone 11 screws no problem.
This kit is a lifesaver. Worked on my Rayban sunglasses, saving me from getting a new frame!
Made an error with an electronic screw and scratched it to the point of I could not do anything and bought this on an overnight delivery. While having to use it ony when its plugged in, this product came in a clutch! Later on used it to correct other items with similar issues around the house and worked: EVERY.SINGLE.TIME!If there would be one thing I would change or add to the product to make it Stellar it would be to add a battery option to charge and use it without being plugged to use it.Great Product!
This item sucks. I tried to return it before the 30 days were up but when I did Amazon stated that they had to contact the seller. Didn't hear back so then they said it was past the 30 days and I couldn't get a refund or credit. The item is really cheap, hard to use the motor went out after 3 attempts to get my mobile phone open to repair it. It grinded the screws making it worse. The price is not parallel to the quality. Don't buy or try to use and send it back immediately for a refund it WILL break sooner than you expect it to
This is Incredible, didnt think this kit would work but it surprised me!
Flimsy, but served its purpose. I was successful in extracting a tiny M1.2 Phillips screw. Make sure you practice first. It can easily slip off, so cut against the direction of rotation (if holding in your right hand, cut towards you not away from you). Use a magnifying glass to see what you're doing. The tiny cutting heads are very good. The actual rotary tool is not sturdy. Only good for occasional use. I suspect the cutting heads will long outlast the motorized tool.
