Excellent system, reasonably fast (slower than I expected, particularly in booting) seems to have reliable hardware, although the CD reader is a really cheap one, and it turns out (see below) that the SSD boot drive is much slower than expected. The plethora of USB ports is very helpful. The Internal sound system is much better than I expected --- very good sound quality and plenty of power, at least for my needs.I'm not a gamer at all so I can't really comment on the internal graphics, but it certainly is fine for my needs. I play simple games and it works just great. Really, it's just as good a the big graphics card I had in my previous workstation.I have a high end Logitech wireless keyboard/mouse but I set up the system with what they sent and both the mouse and keyboard were great, although I personally don't care for wired items --- I like wireless much better. My Logitech dongle works fine on this system. On arrival, the system showed 32 Gigs of main memory, even though I ordered it with 64 Gigs. The supplier was VERY responsive and shipped out another 32 Gigs right away. Interestingly enough, because there were only two memory slots I assumed that each had a 16Gig board but when I pulled one out, it was 32 Gigs and so was the second one. I replaced one of them with the new one and now the system shows the full 64 Gigs.I'm NOT a fan of Windows 11 but I haven't yet started to coerce it to look more like Windows 10, which I understand you can do if you don't mind the hassle, and of course this is not a slam on this system since I knew I would get it with Winodws 11.The 4TB SSD that I ordered it with seems OK, but I haven't done a speed test on it. (HAVE NOW: see below)I like the form factor on the box, but that's mainly because my previous computer was a HUGE workstation tower and this one seems tiny by comparison. At 6" wide, 12+" high, and 11+" deep, it's not really tiny but it's smaller than I expected from the Amazon picture. The one BIG drawback of this system is the lack of expansion slots (just a couple) but I knew that when I bought it, so that's on me. All those USB ports, front and back, make it easy to hook up external drives, I just wish there were room for a few internal ones. All in all, a good system, although I do think that for the money there could have been a few more expansion slots.LATER: ran a disk speed test on the 4TB SSD boot drive and I am very disappointed. It ran at just under half the speed of the SDD boot drive in my previous system. I'm leaving this review at 5 stars but if I were feeling just a bit more curmudgeonly I would drop it to 4 because of this. This helps explain what I see as a "slower than it should be" boot sequence.
A great computer!
I had trouble getting the external DVD player to work, but after a visit from IT it's working ok.
Do not expect to be able to upgrade the power supply to support a proper video card. So, do not expect to upgrade the video card with anything substantial. This case does not have enough room to fit a standard-sized power supply. In fact, even if you could wedge one in, the back panel of this PC won't support it unless you get out a hacksaw to make an opening and drill out your own screw holes. I have not been able to find ANY power supply that will fit this case beyond the ittty-bitty supply that comes with it.Do not expect to install any 3.5 supplementary drive. There's nowhere to put it.Do not expect to install a standard optical drive. It has a slot at the top that looks like a laptop optical drive might fit, but I'm going to guess it's probably a proprietary drive that you'll likely not find.I've not even bothered to power on this cluck of junk. Honestly, I want to throw it into the pond out back. It's of absolutely no use to me.
A bargain price for the size of the SSD (4TB). Very satisfied with the specifications performance.
I purchased my old Dell computer in 2004 and besides a hard drive update to add more storage, it worked perfectly and I was forces to upgrade when Window 11 came about and my old PC would not make the change. Having been such a dependable workhorse through 20+ years, it seemed a good bet to follow with another Dell product. This computer is fast. Blistering fast. It's quiet and other than the fact that it has no built-in drive for CD/DVD, it seems to operate much the same as my old PC, but much faster. It has an i9 processor and a 4TB internal hard drive and I am computing with ease. The change, the movement of my old files to the new PC was made 'easy' with some Laplink software. All my photos, my years and years of iTunes, all my documents and programs moved to this PC and everything went smoothly and I;m up and running in pretty short order.
