This is not our first build-it-yourself piece of furniture that we purchased off of Amazon, and I found it easy to follow instructions and assemble from start to finish. I even got so far as putting all my husbands shoes because that’s why we got it. Right after we filled it up with shoes (3 pairs per level) the bottom drawer fell off.It’s held on by this flimsy connection of two plastic pieces, one embedded in the side panel, and one that connects the drawer to the side panel, and the shortest tiniest screw which is supposed to hold everything together. We figured it was possible I assembled it wrong, leaving a gap so large that the screw could not hold the drawer to the side panel - so we took the screws out of the plastic panel which makes up the side of the drawer and re screwed it in closer to the side panel that it is supposed to connect to. Didn’t work. Then we tried to use a larger screw from what was left over. Didn’t work. In the end we concluded the wood quality was poor and once the screw fell out, it could not retain any more screws going forward. We tested this out by removing the bottom drawer entirely and trying the screw in by itself without any weight on it and after screwing it in, we were able to remove it with our hands.Unfortunately we had to then take this whole piece of furniture apart to ship it back for a return which I was very disappointed about as it was no easy feat assembling furniture this pregnant, and this put a delay on our nesting to-do list. We so wanted to love it but sadly can’t recommend buying this product to anyone looking for cheap shoe storage.

08-03-2026I had a tiny entry space and this cabinet filled the bill.I will admit that my kids assembled this in about 20 minutes. They are IKEA folks so I was pleased to hear them get so excited with the product.Note: this cabinet has no back panel as it backs up to the wall. Not a problem for me.Bonus: the gold tone handles are a very nice quality so I won’t need to change them.Note: Do take time to anchor to the wall per safety instructions. The drop down shelves do have weight, when full of your shoes.

08-03-2026Living in a 75 year old house has its challenges with small closets. The FENDEE shoe storage cabinet fits perfectly in my bedroom and looks very nice. I can store 16 pairs of shoes: flats, sneakers, slippers, and heels. It was a bit of a challenge to put it together, but nothing that I couldn’t handle. It seems to be well made for the price. The slats in front provide ventilation and the back is fairly open. Just know that you can see the soles of your shoes in the area between the slats. I put the dark soled shoes on the bottom shelf of each drawer as they are less noticeable than the lighter colored soles.

How many pairs of shoes does this actually hold? I see different numbers everywhere.
For women's flats & kids' shoes: You can expect to store up to 12 pairs.
For standard men's sneakers (Size 9-13): We realistically recommend 4 pairs for easy access. You can fit up to 8, but it will be a very tight squeeze.
Will this fit large men's sneakers or work boots?
Yes, but with a specific method. For large sneakers (Size 12+), we recommend storing 1 pair per compartment (4 total). For boots, remove the divider to use the full width, allowing you to store 1-2 pairs per drawer.
How should I measure to see if this will work for me?
Grab your longest pair of shoes (e.g., a man's size 13 sneaker).
Measure it from heel to toe. Let's say it's 12 inches long.Now, look at our cabinet's 9.4-inch depth.
