This works great for a mid-range buildPeople who complain about the noise, probably need to adjust the fan curve speed in Bios? The V2 having fans that can spin faster, means it can get a little louder, but also gives it the ability to cool the cpu faster better when it is needed. I see this as an absolute benefit with no negative side. For a quieter experience, simply set your cpu fan curve to not be as aggressive, and to kick into full speed once you reach higher cpu temperatures.
Impressed!Coouing down core 7 ultra.Gaming on it.No overclock!!!Can get loud but for the price and hassle free maintenance this is the best option!!!Enough room for Ram memory.Haven't tested the thermal paste provided.Just bought my own mx5.
I bought the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE ARGB White V2 for my new white-themed PC build with an Intel Core Ultra 2 processor, and as always, Thermalright’s coolers are a cut above. The white finish is sleek and matches my build perfectly, adding a clean, stylish vibe. The six heat pipes with AGHP GEN 5.0 technology keep my Core Ultra 2 nice and cool, even during intense gaming sessions and multitasking. The dual 120mm PWM fans (up to 1850RPM) deliver strong airflow while staying surprisingly quiet. The ARGB lighting looks great and syncs seamlessly with my setup. Installation was a breeze on my Intel 1851 socket, with clear instructions and solid mounting hardware (it also supports AMD AM4/AM5). The cooler’s build quality is top-tier, and for the price, it’s an absolute steal. This is why I always go back to Thermalright—reliable performance and great aesthetics. 5 stars for now, and I’ll update if anything changes with extended use. Highly recommend!
Fitted this CPU cooler yesterday on an aging MSI Codex Tower Case. The installing can be challenging due to fitting the 2nd fan north of the air vents and system heatsink. Ram clearance is a few centimeters on top of the first stick, but everything fits properly. I have no issues so far and it cools off the i5 13400F under 33-38c while on turbo boost at 4.0-4.5 GHz. As the title states OVERKILL. Will consider using this for the i9 14900f cpu in the future. The price lives up to its superior value over premium coolers. Get this if you're an Intel customer who isn't buying K versions. Recommend this to MSI PRO z790 P Wifi DD4 motherboard owners! Update: I want to clear something up about the size, it's a large tower cooler, but fits well on cases with 195 x 500 x 455mm. The size isn't that bad.
Outstanding value and fairly straightforward to install, just be careful you don't get into a fight with the radiator, the radiator will win haha. Also be mindful of routing cables to your motherboard ahead of time if your case is on the smaller side, as accessing the connection points may be difficult or impossible. It fit into my Coolermaster Q300L with about a quarter-inch of clearance, so unless you're in an ultra-small form factor case, you should be good to go. Will look good with any black, grey, or white build - I have a blacked-out build personally. The stock fans do a good job moving air but they can sound a bit like a blender under load - but that's an easy $20-$30 fix down the line to swap out a couple of Arctic P12 or Noctua NF-P12's. For what you get for only $40, it's an absolute steal.
Briefly used this for my 14900k as an interim cooler. Worked great, kept it cool and is quiet. Probably the best bang for buck cooler. The one I received did have bent cooling fins on the top, that’s the reason for 4 stars
One of the best air coolers I've owned. The metal hooks that attach the fans to the heatsink are quite easy and it keeps the temperatures low. I have yet to notice the noise so it is fairly quiet. Really great cooler for the price.
Buono - Good
Pretty easy to install and comes with everything you need. ARGB lighting looks great and reduced my CPU temps massively. The only thing I will say is the fans can get pretty noisy under high RPM but that can be expected.
I would recommend using low profile RAM for best fan clearance as my Corsair vengeance modules are touching. The ARGB color matches my other fans accurately. Using this on a 5700x3d and under full load it stays around 60 degrees Celsius. Fans are quiet. The cooler is tall but should fit most standard size cases. Overall good value and the fans seem to have quality bearings. Fan clips are of better quality than cooler master counterparts also.
My PC (Intel i7-11th gen) started overheating on a regular basis and would overheat to the point that it would auto-shutdown after 10 minutes in a graphics intensive game like RUST.I first tried cleaning my existing CPU cooler and fan and applying new thermal paste but it didn't solve the problems.Went down a rabbithole of AI suggestions and Youtube reviews. This did the ticket. My CPU now runs rust at almost 50 degrees (celcius!) lower temp. Down in the 20s when idling. Near 40-50 when doing the most intensive gaming. All for under $40?Value for money? CHECKPerformance? CHECKFunctionality? CHECKNoise Level? CHECK (no complaints. I never notice it.)Looks? CHECK (it faces toward my exhaust on the back of my PC, so I don't really see the LED fans directly, but the glow of colors coming from my CPU stack are still fun!BUY IT.
