Unlike a traditional case, this one attaches via strong magnets to the back of my iPhone 16 pro max right where the Magsafe area is.It fits perfectly, and feels like its a part of the phone. It helps with the ergonomics of the phone in the hand, but doesn't help with the grip. Its smooth. While not slippery, I would be extra cautious in handling the phone if you are prone to dropping your phone.There is absolutely no protection on the sides, top, bottom or front of the phone with this.But, it does something very few phones will do. It protects you from EMF radiation.Apple Pay is not affected. The magnetic strength is high from the case. It is less strong from the case to the phone. It's enough though.I will use this at night and in the house. But I will likely switch to a different case when I go outside.*** I have not scientifically evaluated the EMF radiation reduction at this time ***

I bought this because I thought it would help protect me from radiation and cancer, but the product itself comes with a warning that it contains materials known to cause cancer or harm. Additionally, it has a strong, toxic smell, possibly due to the glue used.

Just for context, I’ve been a passionate “caseless” iPhone user since the original. No hyperbole. But as the years went on, the camera bumps got bigger and bigger…and bigger. So while I still value the feeling of a nakey iPhone, the inability to set it down on a table started to outweigh that. When I first came across this product, I was thrilled. It was like a “duh” moment. It feels like this type of product is what MagSafe was created for! It protects the back, protects the cameras, and leaves the rest of the phone completely pure. I actually even enjoy the feeling it adds. Having a bit more thickness and a slightly grippy back makes the phone even easier to hold. Just FYI, it’s just a slightly rubberized “soft touch” feeling, it’s not sticky like an Apple silicone case. So it adds a bit of grip, but doesn’t pull your pocket out with it thankfully. It’s perfect!Somehow even though this design is so genius, there’s only one competitor (Suti) and I much prefer the design from this brand. Atom decided to completely mask the camera bump while Suti amplifies it. IMO, Atom nailed it.For some final notes, the actual quality and design of this thing is impeccable. The microfiber lining is a nice touch and you can just tell the materials are expensive. When you put it on, the strong magnets and cutout for the cameras work together to basically lock the case in place, so it has a 0% chance of falling off - it doesn’t even wiggle if you try. Speaking of the magnets, they’re not only strong enough to keep the case adhered, it feels like they 3X the connection of anything you stick to your phone. I use MagSafe chargers, stands, and wallets, and the difference is very noticeable.Last but not least, the cellular radiation absorption is a great bonus. This isn’t really something I can personally prove or really even notice, but Atom and their partner company does a great job making the facts and science available to read. So while you won’t “feel” the difference, the proof is there in black and white. You just have to trust a little.As if it wasn’t abundantly clear, I love this thing. If you’re worried about “protection”…why are you even here? This is for those of us that want to enjoy the phone almost as intended, just with some nice corrections to the design. Slap this backplate on, get AppleCare, and enjoy your iPhone!
