The ASUS ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5080 introduces ROG's first quad-fan graphics card, coupled with a patented vapor chamber, increased heatsink fin density, a phase-change GPU thermal pad, towering default clock speeds, boosted power delivery, and more. These premium innovations – amplified by an eye-catching die-cast frame and metal GPU bracket – combine to deliver absolute performance that can handle even the most demanding gaming scenarios.
Expensive, but you know that already if you're looking a 5080. Replaced my 3080 with this and very large gains in all games. Very large card make sure you have the space inside your tower and in the back for the 3 slots. While in my desktop, even with 3 monitors multitasking, the fans never even need to turn on because it idles very cool. Even when gaming the fans at 40-60% rpm are very quiet. I don't think I've seen it go over 70% rpm speed in the latest games.Had no missing ROPs, hopefully that issue was limited to very early cards. VRAM of 16gb is a welcome improvement over the 10GB I had on my 3080 which was limiting the more games that keep coming out since I run games at 4k.Runs almost all of my games with great fps at 4k resolution, with and without DLSS depending on the game and usage of Ray tracing settings and how optimized the game is.With some more maturity in the 50 series drivers it should keep strong performance for quite a few years.Overall a great upgrade from my 3080 from 4 years ago, if you're on a 40 series card it's not worth it most likely especially for the current cost.
I’m running this ASUS Prime RTX 5080 in my second machine (i9-13900KF, 128GB DDR5, Samsung 990 Pro SSD), and it delivers fantastic performance across the board. While the Prime line isn’t as premium in build/cooling as the TUF series, the raw power of this GPU really shines. How I use it:Gaming — Cyberpunk 2077 looks absolutely stunning on this card. Ray tracing and high settings run smooth, and the graphics are jaw-dropping.Photo editing & video production — 4K timelines run without lag, and rendering/exporting projects is quick and reliable.AI & ComfyUI — I keep my RTX 5070 for lighter models, but the 5080 is my go-to for high-quality image generation and video generation. Models like Wan 2.2 work well, producing consistent results with no major slowdowns.Performance benchmarks:PassMark scored this system at 15,893 overall (99th percentile), with:CPU Mark: 54,299 (98th percentile)3D Graphics Mark: 40,981 (99th percentile)Disk Mark: 53,705 (99th percentile)These results match what I see daily — incredible gaming visuals, fast creative production, and strong AI capability.Highlights:Amazing graphics in modern AAA games like Cyberpunk 2077.Excellent balance for both gaming and creative/AI workflows.Prime series build is simpler than TUF, but still solid and stable.Bottom line:The ASUS Prime RTX 5080 is a powerhouse GPU. It handles gaming, video production, and AI workloads seamlessly. On my setup, it complements my 5070 perfectly — with the 5070 for lighter tasks, and the 5080 delivering the heavy-duty, high-quality performance I need.
Good product this TimeEnjoying it
TLDR; I used this graphics card in my first custom-build and it works very well for me. It’s a big and heavy beast but it does everything it needs to do very well while looking amazing. You may need to get a larger pc case than what you had for a 30 series or earlier.I selected this 5080 for my first custom pc build and I’ve been learning a lot about pcs in general from the experience.Appearance:I love the design of the card. It looks mechanical and modern and fits perfect with my black themed build. I’ve always liked ASUS designs. My first gaming laptop (my first laptop, period) was ASUS and I have come to trust the brand as being reliable and appealing in its style.Performance:There are no games that I have played so far that haven’t maxed out the game’s graphics settings by default. The 16gb of VRAM was my biggest want out of a new GPU and this helps get all the FPS from every game I’ve tried.Size:This thing is massive. My previous GPU was a 3060. I thought I could squeeze the 5080 into my old case to save a few bucks and I was very wrong. It is also quite heavy so I’d recommend using the included gpu stand or similar to support the weight. When fitted into the correct case, it was super easy to install.Power:I bought a 850w power supply unit and it’s been working fine with it thus far. If you have doubts, it may be safer to get a 1000w PSU depending on the rest of your build. I’ve also heard of issues with the PSU to GPU cables melting but I haven’t seen any evidence of this with my setup.Price:I bought this 5080 pretty early into the series’ release. I paid about 1600 for it but it has been worth it to me. If you have qualms with the price, the 5070 may be the option for you.
This card performs great at 4k even with my old 5800x. I get 160-240 fps on cyberpunk maxed out with framegen and it's like butter. The fans are quiet even at around 70% speed but this card will heat up a room nicely (good for winter). It overclocks to 3.1 ghz core and 36Gbs memory giving a good extra 10% performance for free. The price was very good, only a little more than a 5070ti so I went for this one.

Great card. Fits into my Define r7 mid size case with radiator and push/pull fans for anyone wondering. I did buy an angled PCI power adaptor because the side panel might not fit the cable sticking out from the GPU.Skyrim with the nolvus mod pack runs great, star citizen and cyberpunk runs great on it also.Price wasn't too bad, expensive but not like the strix cards!Delivery was quick and easy. Install simple, looks good in the case and is quiet. All in all, delighted with it. Thanks.
Luckily no missing ROPs.
I built a new PC with Intel Core 9 Ultra 285K, Asus Astral 5080 OC GPU, G.Skill Trident Z5 RGB RAM, Samsung 9100 and 990 (boot). Benchmark show good results. I was worried the fans not running under load. After some reach, the default profile under 50c will not kick in colling fans. This board is designed to run stable at 80-90c range. What a relief. This board's build quality is top notch. It employs 2 cooling fans and large heatsink. Maybe over kill but it does provide peace of mind. The defaul OC is sweet extra. I have not played too much OC yet. May spend some time on OC once there is such need.Overall, I highly recommend this card and do think the extra premium worth it.
