Absolutely love this! Water tastes just like it came from an under sink reverse osmosis system. We live in an apartment and like our reverse osmosis like we had in a house. And it isn’t overly big.
When I received notification of high contaminants in our City’s drinking water (but within State guidelines until the first of the year), I started researching water purification systems. A friend and neighbor has had this same system for approximately 2 years and loves it! It has multiple filters, including one for reverse osmosis RO (one of the reasons I chose this system). It is my understanding that RO removes heavy metals, including Hexavalent Chromium… which was one of my concerns. It was very simple to set up and after you run it through multiple flushings of the filters, you fill the reservoir and are ready to drink delicious, pure water! It’s so easy to use and doesn’t take up too much counter space! I bought some test strips that confirm its purity. It provides confidence that I am drinking clean pure water and I also give it to my dogs! I highly recommend!
We would like to share our thoughts with you regarding our new “SimPure Y9A PH+ Series Water Filtration System.”We were very please with the care that was demonstrated even before we unpacked the System. You took extra steps to protect the System from harm during shipping which was a clear demonstration of a Quality Company.Once we unpacked the system we found it very easy to set up and use following the instructions in the Owners Manual. We live in a Town where our water is mixed with well water and has a very unpleasant taste and is not very clear with Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) in excess of 400.Once we had completed the set up process we tested our SimPure Filtered water and found the TDS level was now down to 39 – WOW!!!We understand that the TDS Number could be even lower had we selected the Y9T however we had a higher desire to have PH Balanced water than a “0” or near “0” TDS reading. We are extremely pleased with the Clarity and very pleasant taste of our new PH balanced water with a dramatic improvement in clarity and a Dramatic reduction in our TDS levels. We also like the Display Panel that provides all the Information we need while allowing us to start and stop the flow of our water without having to hold the button down as was the case with our Previous now replaced water system, which by the way did not come close to offering the Clarity and taste of your Y9A.We look forward to using our New Y9A for many years to come appreciating the simplicity of Filter Cartridge Replacement when the indicator advises us that the time to do so has arrived.Thank You for making such a High Quality, Highly Functional System that delivers Exceptionally Delicious Clear water, while making it an easy System to Maintain. We will certainly be recommending your Y9A to our friends and family.
After using zerowater filters for multiple years and having to change the filters every 2 weeks, I found this RO system very useful. After search for a countertop RO systems for multiple weeks, and reviewing multiple products online, I finally bought this and it meets all my expectations. Its been almost 2 months since I started using this. The instruction booklet is clear with the steps to initial setup and filtering, and maintenance of the system. The filters come pre-installed and is very easy to setup for the first use. It is also easy to get the filter cabinet and to unplug and plug new ones when needed. The water filtering and dispense is quick after touch of the button. I am impressed with the taste of the water. I love the fact that it adds minerals to the water after RO filtration which I was missing when using the zerowater filters. I like the design with the water tank on the side, I just feel it is more practical making it easier to access for filling and emptying. Overall it is a great value with reasonably priced RO system.
I have been using this for 1.5 months. The filters are supposed to last 6-9 months. We are a family of 3 and the TDS when we installed it was 20 ppm. After one month it went to 35 ppm and now it is at 71 ppm at 1.5 months. You can see a picture. We live in Toronto so the starting TDS is 151 ppm. I am going to have to purchase a new filter system which together cost $200. If that is how my no have to spend every year = $1400 a year on Top of the $550 price tag. It is not worth it.
The water tastes great and I change the water about once per day. Twice per day if I am using the water for cooking, such as pasta. I did have to flush it about 10 times (they recommend at least 3-5 times) before I stopped getting floating stuff in the water. They mention in the manual this can happen due to the protective liquid (food grade glycerin) in the RO filter cartridge and that it disappears after flushing. However, I started getting floating stuff in the water again after a little while. Not sure why it keeps coming back if they said it disappears after flushing. It is not coming from my tap water. I wish they had the rejected water in its own isolated compartment or at least have the divider closer to the top. The rejected water constantly enters the feed/source water, so the system is constantly trying to filter water that it has already filtered. I used water test strips and a TDS meter. Tap water ranges from 430-450 ppm. Filtered water through this ranges from 40-50 ppm and bottled water was 20-22 ppm. The top part of the water tank is starting to bend on the left side. There are no latches or anything to secure the lids. They lay flat on top. I have dropped the lid into the water tank several times when I go to change out the water. It does take a while to dispense the water, especially if you are using a lot for cooking. I suggest getting a pitcher or water bottles to fill them beforehand. I wish the water dispenser itself was higher as I cannot fit containers greater than 8 inches tall underneath it. Some water bottles will not fit. I usually have to move the magnetic drip catcher as well. I do have to wipe down the water tank and the part of the system that holds it every time I change the water to help prevent leaks. Otherwise, water will leak around it when I place it back in. It is a bit concerning how close it can leak next to the power cord in the back if you are not careful. This is still a decent system and it fits in my apartment.
