Super expensive for what it is.-There are laptops with higher performance at a lower cost.-There are tablets that are lighter with longer battery for 1/5 of the cost. You'll need an exact use case for this hybrid. For me, I didn't want to "upgrade" my ROG Ally to the Ally X. It's a whopping 10 percent performance increase. I'm now using the Z13 along with XR glasses to fully play all my PC games on the comfort of my bed. It's something that the ROG Ally *can* have problems with depending on the game. No more wondering if it's going to lag, the Z13 crushes every game in my steam library at 1080p 120hz (the resolution of my XR glasses).... It's still expensive AF.
Expensive. So I expect every detail to be handled. Sadly no. First the power supply cable is not right angled and its propreitary. It sticks out of the top left corner of the display like complete TRASH. No magnetic connection. USBC charging does NOT work. HDR in game doe NOT work. ALL of the ports should be middle or lower RIGHT side not left. You cannot rotate the tablet 180 due to airvents on top, All of the buttons on the right side, power and settings buttons, are VERY hard to read and even tell what they do. The keyboard backlight turns off with EVERY reboot and requires starting Armoury Crate to get it to turn back on. You cannot see the keys without the backlight. It runs Substance Painter and currently that is the only thing making me keep it. It runs games fine while plugged in, "ok" on battery. ARC Raiders had many lag spikes on battery ??? But it did say about 100fps with FRS and 60-70fps no FRS or upscale. I'm on the 32GB version. I may try increasing the ram to the gpu and see it that clears up. The keyboard itself is "ok" but a bit flimsy. The whole package is fairly heavy. 3/5 easily
Honestley my 1st windows tablet upgrade since my surface pro 7. And all I can say is wow. It's not the best gaming pc, but dang it's not far behind by my eyes on how it handles games. As to the robustness well I got the 128gb memory version since it's not really upgradeable. So will be goof for some time. The only thing I did not like is they opted to only provide for a single 2230 sized m2 slot, which is tragic, they really should have made it for a full-sized 2280 drive. And also feel a little cheated that as new and cutting edge it was that they only opted for tb4 not tb5 on it. But otherwise it's a awesome piece of tech
Box was resealed and glued shut, you can see all the glue along the edges. Unacceptable for a $3k device. Will never purchase an ASUS product again.
If you have used the previous models this will live up to the hype. With the new Ryzen CPUs the battery life on normal tasks is several hours, no longer the hour it has been with the GPUs. This was a pleasant surprise. For years I've looked for a good 2 in 1 laptop tablet for travel and work. Many of the units don't have the power. Ports are always missing. Charging is a pain. I even tried the original EVE Tech V as a possible option (don't bother with EVE Tech/Dough, hype over performance and delivery). These provide power, charging through any USB C (albeit slow on small bricks, LoL), quality screens, a keyboard that doesn't suck (expectations tempered for those of us with mechanical keyboards), an overall quick and quality experience. The only place these did not shine was in battery life but with everything else covered that has been acceptable to me. A 10,000mAh batter plugged in USB C has often gotten me through a few hours of work moving around a construction site or job project.
It could have been 5 if memory can be upgraded from 32GB to 64GB. I am stuck with 32GB given this is a gaming laptop that takes a lot of memory. Opening just 2 apps like Photoshop and KeyShot already showing me that 85% of the memory has already been used.
Don't expect this thing to play all the demanding games with 60fps, especially at higher settings. This thing is to get work done and scratch that quick itch to play games. But yeah, its great for that.
Very powerful machine and ideal for local LLM development, it will get hot when running LLM or playing video games. But unlike other typical laptop that the weight is on the keyboard side, this one is on the screen side. The good thing is that the keyboard is nice and cool. The cooling system is letting air flow from the back and out at the top, so make sure there are enough room from the wall, that said, do not cover the back with any cover.
This machine is built for power users. The 128GB of RAM means you can run games, creative apps, and heavy multitasking all at once without slowdown. Gaming performance is excellent—smooth frame rates and crisp visuals even on high settings. It’s incredibly fast, with apps opening instantly and large files loading in seconds. For the amount of hardware packed inside, it’s a solid value compared to buying a desktop and laptop separately. Build quality feels premium, with a sturdy chassis, responsive keyboard, and a bright, sharp display. Cooling is impressive—fans are quiet during light work and keep temps stable under load, so heat is never a major issue. The only thing missing is built-in cellular data. If it had that, it would truly be an anywhere-anytime powerhouse. Even without it, this is one of the best compact systems you can get for extreme performance, gaming, and professional work.
When i this device there was a large blue bright spot on the left hand side of the screen along with some bad backlight bleeding, unacceptable for a device in this price bracket. And when I try to initiate a return the only option it gives is UPS pickup due to its price. However i cannot due that as i am commuting or at work from 8-8 on weekdays and someone must be present to hand the package over. I spent over 4 hours with chat and over the phone with support to plead my case and only received copy paste message back. At the end i was basically told to figure it out myself. This was the first and now last time I will ever by anything expensive on this platform. If you must buy this laptop I plead with you to spend a little bit more to buy it from somewhere that treats their customers better.
This is a pretty bad az little machine (128GB version). If you're buying this to run LLMs and AI image gen, yeah, it can handle a lot. I put Fedora Linux on it first thing and it was going to be my main work machine. I was pretty impressed with how well it loaded and ran some of the larger LLM models. It is new tech, however, and the drivers for it in Fedora are not mature. I had to return it because of that and because I disliked the keyboard more than I thought I would. I use an external kbd most of the time so I didn't think I'd care much. But I took with me on the road for a week and that was too much. But I'm missing it already.
Its an amazing device and ran my 49 odyssey ultra wide monitor and 2x 27 samsung monitor simultaneously with no issue but obviously this kicked it to overdrive and fan kicked in loud. On separate occasion played GTA 5 and the device gotta really hot and graphic performance started to dimish. At last, at one point my device starting making weird noises that similar to burning noise and I quick shut it down and smelled the device for any burnt smell, luckily I didn't smell anything but after that, the LED lighting at the back stopped working.... I'm thinking it has potential but still a long way to go for solving heating problems and being more efficient.
I always love Asus and their products and customer service. However, the AMD Edition is slower than their previous Intel Editions. I also think the 2022-23 Edition design is much more detailed. This Asus RogFlow is still sturdy, good quality, and practical, even for desktop use. I don't play games; however, I purchase them for performance. Asus provides constant updates. I am guessing they will fix whatever problem makes this PC think longer before it reacts. It happened more after the latest Windows update. It's brand new with 32 GB RAM. I will see what happens next. But it's undeniably better than any competing products from other companies.
