While you can use it for climbing you really want to buy a professional rope at 10x this price when your life depends on it.That said, this is a better rope than I expected. 10mm is about 4/10th of an inch. I have the 30 meter one, which is about 98 feet. It seems strong, no damage, strong carabiners. Isn't too heavy. The carabiners have no rating stamped on them but superficially seem to hold the required minimum 9kn on the major axis. They also have gates. . They end loops are metal and are sewn well. But if you're in doubt about the given loops, carabiners, or the sewing strength quality simply tie the ends yourself with your own certified carabiners. There is no middle mark, so you do it yourself.I'm using it as an emergency fire rope to replace a very old 25 foot one. I can easily double it up and slide down 4 stories. I don't know how fire proof it is, or how many years t'll resist sun, heat, use and salt water or icy conditions. Nor am I going to test the strength with 5300 pounds (or my buddy's tractor). And I'm not cutting it to see if it cuts easily or checking the friction or acid corrosion potential. Nor will I check scientifically how it works wet or for a fall. But I'm pretty sure it'll slowly hold my 200 pounds, from freezing days to heat waves.I cannot certify if it's actually stainless steel or the type of fibers used. And I quickly counted an estimated 96 feet by hand and wrote 95'. But it could be 98.It's good also as a utility rope. Or as a back-up to a main rope. Or for big inclines that aren't vertical or fatal , as well as novice practice with ropes (coiling, climbing safe things, using carabiners, making carrying litters, shelters, throw lines, etc). It probably could be used for towing a small car but you really want a 30k kinetic rope or strap instead. It's nice to keep it packaged and tight from the factory but always uncoil it, inspect it for damage from end to end. Then coil it again as best you can. Most climbers put a knot on the ends so it's harder to slide out of the rope, harder for rope to slip out of your hands.Gloves came with mine. Black, thin, medium sized with grips. My large hand fit in them. While i might buy another one soon, it gets only 3 stars for 2 reasons: it has no rating on the carabiners. And the manual says it's only good for using for "one week a year, for 10 years". Yes, I said one week. But that might be for people lifting 5,000 pounds. Either way it sounds weak to say.Price was great. It arrived on time.(Always be careful and use 2 ropes, 2 anchors, 2 harnesses, 2 carabiners, etc.)

Super nice rope that appears well made and I purchased it for what I would consider a really great price. The length was nice and I will know more when tested but it does appear to be very safely constructed. Should function for my needs and overall very happy with weight and closed eyelets on both ends.

I got the 30 meter version and there is plenty of very nice rope. The listing says it is 30 meters of 10 mm rope. I'm not going to quibble overly but I laid it out with my tape measure and with the carabiners on both ends, it came to just short of 30 meters. Maybe if I pulled a bit harder, I could get to 30 meters. Also, the diameter of the rope is 3/8 inch, about 9.5 mm. Maybe after it gets used and fluffed out a bit, it will be 10 mm or maybe I measured a bit overly zealously and squished the rope a bit. Whatever, it is good solid rope that is -about- 10 mm.Somebody was asking on Amazon, Why pay $$ for this when you can pay $ for that on Harbor Freight. My answer then, as now, look closely at the products. This one says "Climbing Rope for ... Tree Climbing" that one says "Not for use as a lifeline." Do you really want to risk your neck on something that says not to use it for that purpose? One of the pictures for the listing shows gloves. I did not expect gloves and I did not get any. (I would not expect random gloves to fit my big hands, anyway.)It comes with a nice nylon bag. When it comes from the factory, it is hanked up nice and tight. Getting the rope untangled initially is a pain. Getting back into the bag, such that it can be used again, easily is a challenge. It took me a while to figure out but I actually STORE the rope in the bag, not just pull the rope out the first time and throw the bag away. The sewn eyes on both ends of the rope are good and bad. They are good because they are nicely made, sturdy with thimbles to protect the rope. Sewn eyes are supposed to be more reliable than the spliced version and these have a shrink tubing outer layer to protect them. They are a bit of an annoyance because I commonly use my ropes with a pulley and with the eye, they don't fit through the pulley at all. The eyes also slow down the tying of knots but with a rope this long, most knots are in the middle anyway. It came with two carabiners that are made of steel and have screw closures but nothing stamped on them saying how they are rated. I'm not sure I'll trust them with my life so I'll use them for something else and use others that are rated for anything serious. My daughter looked at the rope and commented how pretty it was. The purple I got is a very nice color with the contrasting bands. I wanted to get a different color from my other ropes so I can tell my ground support which rope to pull on by color but why not have a nice color, while I am at it? She also commented on how this is a nice firm rope of sufficient thickness to do some good. The listing says this is polyester rope with a nylon core. I associate polyester with static ropes, meaning they don't stretch more than maybe 2%. It was news to me that nylon can be used as the core for a static rope.I am pleased with this rope. If I am so pleased, why not five stars? I guess because the eyelets don't fit in my pulleys and the bag is a little small.

My husband used this climbing rope putting a roof on our metal building which he tied himself around his waist and put the other end attached to the truck which made it a safer than just getting on top without any security. It worked perfectly.
