It’s simple:
Fill your water container.
Drop in a tablet (1 tablet treats 4 gallons of clear water, 1.5 gallons of cloudy water).
Stir or shake to dissolve.
Wait 30 minutes to 1 hour for the purification process to work.
Enjoy fresh, safe water with no unpleasant aftertaste.
Stay prepared for any situation and keep hydration simple and safe with these easy-to-use water filtration tablets.
I use one tablet to a four gallon jug of water nd I waited two hour to drink it and it’s has a funny taste and it has a Bleach Smell like to it….WATER SHOULD NOT HAVE A TASTE AND IT SHOULD NOT HAVE A SMELL TO IT…..These Tablets Smell Awful….
Did the job
Leaves a chemical taste to the water and has a slight yellowish tinge to it.If you are in a survival situation, these detractors can be overlooked as the need for potable water outweighs taste and color. If you are just using them because you think the local tap water might be less quality, buy bottled water.
I weighed the entire bottle at 146 grams, with packaging (about 5-1/8 ounces) which contained 100 tablets, each about 397 mg in weight. The instructions state that each tablet will disinfect in about 30 minutes a measured 4 gallons of clear water of total dissolved solids (TDS) of 1500 or less, or about 1-1/2 gallons of cloudy water. The box clearly stated the ingredients as "Sodium Dichloroisocyanurate" at 16.91% and it says it's protective against Giardia cysts (which is the infective form of the Giardia parasite), bacteria and viruses. Since you tend to store these tablets in a cool, dry and dark location, it's nice they have an expiry date on the box which is around five years into the future. When I tested one tablet in a gallon of water in the largest glass clear container I had, there was a slight yellow coloring - even after waiting for an hour. Not much yellow, but enough to be visible. It also smelled a bit of that pool-chlorine smell we're all familiar with from long experience. It tasted OK though. But the taste is secondary to the real reason for using these tablets - which is to purify water, which makes this $26 Zoxy purification tablet package (Amazon ASIN B0DX65S3HX) an excellent purchase for emergency use. On any given hike you can easily pack a handful of tablets so it doesn't increase the weight of your pack, and still they're easy to use.Since these tablets easily fall apart, on any given hike, I'd take a dozen or so, wrapped in tissue paper and then wrap them up with crinkled aluminum foil and then place that foil pack in a water-tight ziplock bag. That should cushion them enough to keep the individual tablets from crumbling while in your backpack.Overall these are excellent tablets which are functionally effective to use alone or in combination with other methods (sedimentation, boiling, filtration) to enable you to safely drink water from most streams which are not contaminated by chemicals and a good value for the safety they provide.
Straightforward water purification tablets. Follow the instructions and they get the job done. The taste is acceptable. The tablet container seals well for longevity. Good value for the price.
Water purification tablets are an important addition to any emergency kit or for outdoor trips like hiking or camping. These tables are compact, easy to store, and I like that they have a long shelf life (mine expires about 5 years and a few months from now). The tablets use sodium dichloroisocyanurate and claim to leave no taste or odor. I haven’t tested them on murky water yet, but it should take about 30 minutes to an hour depending on the situation. My main complaint is that there’s no info on what the other 83% of ingredients are, which feels vague for something going into drinking water that I'm going to ingest. Also, no test strips are included, so you’ll need to buy those separately if you want to check water quality. It's a handy and practical item to have on hand but I wish it provided more details on what is included and a way to test the water.
This are great for an emergency or while backpacking. They leave nearly 0 aftertaste which is great because a lot of the other styles of tablet purification leave a terrible aftertaste. You would still need to do a basic filtration system on any water to remove solids but these tablets will kill most anything living or biological that will harm you.

Water seems clear but I’d have to be desperate to drink lake water
