One drawback, the wrist guards don't have a "sock" so the Velcro touches my daughter wrists and hurts her. It would make her raw if she wore them. This could be avoided by simply cutting the ankle part of an old sock and putting it on the wrist before putting on the wrist guards. I must say however, these are excellent quality and would probably last longer than a child could for them! They are a little small I have a six year old and the knee pads are too small! The cup over the knee fits perfect and would provide great protection but the straps are not long enough. The size on the tag reads Small so if there were an ordering option for medium it would probably work fine.
J’ai acheté ce produit pour ma fille de 6ans qui est assez petites. Les poignets sont bien ajustés. Pour les protecteurs de genoux et coudes, ils sont un peu grand! La qualité du produit est excellente!
The quality of these is nice. This is the third brand of knee/elbow/wrist guards we have tried, and they are the nicest. The trouble is, that they say they are for "Child/Kid", but they only fit my 9-year-old daughter correctly. The items are a good fit on my 6-year-old son, except that where the velcro is, it doesn't connect whey looped around his arm. They would have needed more velcro or some way to adjust the elastic band to be shorter. They guards are a little big on my 4-year-old (I expected them to be a little big on him because he is just beyond being a toddler). He can't use the wrist guards. However, both the elbow and knee pads would be okay IF I could velcro the straps on.
Missing wrist guards and look used and dirty on two of the pads
Purchased this set for my 6 year old, and they fit perfectly. However there isn't enough Velcro on the top strap of the knee pads for her to grow into. There is JUST enough room for them to strap on comfortably for now, but it is at its maximum adjustment. It is an easy fix though. I can add more Velcro later on when needed.Overall, good quality and good price. Shipped for free with Amazon prime and received within a couple days.Would definitely recommend them :)
I got these for my granddaughters to use with the kick scooters at Grandma's house. They are very well made. These fit the 39 lb., 42" tall six year-old just right at the tightest placement. The elbow guards were a little loose yet for the 35 lb. 36" tall four year-old. The youngest will be four years old in a month, he wrist guards, and the elbow guards are a little too large for her 29 lb. 32" frame. The knee pads stay in place well. Obviously, since these are all at he tightest placement, they will fit much larger children. I bought the youth sizes for the 11 and 9 year olds. These were just a very little too snug for the nine year old, but he is very thin also.
Works great for my 4 year old. Fits great too.
Bottomline:BUY IT if you want a fairly priced, well constructed, anatomically correct and secure knee/elbow pad/wrist protector for a child less than 60 lbs.Dont buy it if your child is more than 60 lbs.I bought this set for my 8.75 yo daughter who is about 55lbs after I purchased the top rated Mongoose set as I realized it does not have a wrist protector which is very important as she was learning to skateboard and rollerblade at the same time.Materials used:The main protection is made, I think, from the same material as my black kitchen plastic laddle set, strong enough for protection and flexible to absorb some of the impact. The wrist protection has a strip of fake leather around the thumb and the rest is made of fabric that is probably the same material as a running shoe and the inside of a helmet.Design:I was surprised to see that the set is a little bit anatomically correct. The wrist protector curves about 10-15 degrees and follows the natural curve of the palm when in neutral position. The knee and elbow pads are also curved about the same amount and I think they right to do so because the elbows and knees are slightly bent when skateboarding and rollerblading but it still allows you to straighten your elbows and knees when you want to. The elbow and knee pad are also wider on the elbow and knee itself and tapers up and down on the elbow and knee respectively, effectively protecting the area above the elbow and the small bump under your knee (tibial tubercle) which, when you think about it, are the areas that actually hit the ground when falling (aside from the knee and elbow)! Finally, I love the elastic band around the elbows and knees because it helps keep the pads in place while you tighten it with the velcro.Price:For all the features noted above, I think it is fairly priced.Overall, I thinknits a fairly priced, well constructed, anatomically correct and secure knee/elbow pad/wrist protector for my daughter which I think she can use until she is 60 lbs.
Product as described. Great quality.
*VERY VERY well made! *HEAVY duty plastic guards. *Thick elastic w/ heavy velcro.I bought for my 3 year old grandson and they fit with room to grow.I looked at MANY protective gear products and I found this to be the best quality for a super price. We put the knee and elbow pads on for him-but he can take them off with no problems. The hand guards too big, but he may find a reason to use them in a few years.I LOVE that these come with a bag that fits all 6 pieces in perfectly.*I highly recommend this set, and this brand.
Used for making a costume, worked perfectly
Look nice but leave marks and don't really adjust that well. Kept falling and needed to tighten so as to stay stable. But my daughter's legs felt numb due to luck of blood circulation. So there is no upside on this product and it is highly over priced!
