This product is amazing thank you
this actually works really good I am happy with it
We used to have distilled water delivered in 5 gallon bottles, but when our water cooler was destroyed by Hurricane Ian, we cancelled deliveries for a while. Then we discovered how much more expensive it had gotten, and also realized there was a lot of waste in buying it from the grocery store, so I started shopping home distillers. I looked at many options and the associated reviews, and we decided on the Vivo Home. It was the right decision.I run it for two cycles every 2-2 1/2 weeks and have had absolutely no issues with it. The water gets poured out of the container into heavy duty plastic bottles, which I will be replacing with glass shortly. The water is perfect for our CPAP machines and anything else we might need it for.One criticism I noticed from another user was the narrow opening that the cap on the bottle has. It's a metal cap that sort of resembles the top of a Morton Salt container when it's open. I used that cap once and I agree that you have a little bit of mess. However, leaving the cap off and just making sure you have the spigot lined up has worked great with no mess.I believe it is fairly priced , well designed and solid. I bought the citric acid powder and I clean it after every use. I have only had it a few months, so if I have any issues that reflect on anything I've said here I'll come back and edit the post. But as of right now I'd recommend it to anyone who asked.
Inspite of installing a new water softener I was encountering cal/mag deposits in coffee maker and kettle. Having to descale on a weekly basis. This distillation unit has made a significant difference in the quality and taste of well water we use for cooking and drinking. Only drawback is having to run the unit on a nightly basis so we have distilled water for the next day. Considering going for a commercial system so we don’t have to remember to “make” water for the following day
Acceptable machine. My only complaint is the water container is nearly impossible to pour water out without water spillage down the front. Out ot 1.6 gallons full, it usually spills about a shot onto the counter when transferring water. Otherwise, its a good machine.
Love this machine!! It works really well, is quiet and distills ~1.5 gallons more quickly than expected. It’s well made and after almost 2 weeks of daily use, I’ve had no issues with it. I believe it should hold up well. The operation and maintenance are simple. It’s saved me a lot of time and effort lugging gallons of water from the store, and it should pay for itself in just a few months. I’m extremely happy with the purchase!
Just received this about a week ago. I'm hrough the cleansing process, AND, Very Happy compared to the last distiller I replaced. Not the same Brand. It is matte black and I am happy with my choice. It's so easy to use. (this is not a complicated machine) But, I am surprised my last one lasted so long. The electrical cords work. I don't have to push into place. I check them, plug into the outlet, press the black button on the front. I am so happy with this. I will keep you posted on my ongoing relationship with this distiller. If any problems, I will update this posting. I chose this model because I didn't want the cockpit of an airplane. Read your instructions; they proved helpful. At this moment, I would definitely recommend it. If performance continues, I will repurchase if this model or similar is available. Of course, I obviously enjoy the water. (I do remineralize every other batch.) PS It comes loaded with a filter, but you have to purchase your own when it is time to change. Definitely recommend.
Works great love it
Love how it works, I have processed over 12 gallons in less than a week that would have cost me $about $2 per gallon. This unit has already made up for about half its cost. I go through 2 gallons of distilled water a week in my raspatory equipment. The one downside is it dose generate a lot of heat. I have a four-season room that is perfect to use this in so it's not heating my house in the summertime but as winter comes, it will be a welcome boost to my heating needs.
Good product
I have been extremely satisfied with the VIVOHOME water distiller, despite some initial reservations in buying one. My family and I live in a very dry, high desert climate, and run a couple of high volume humidifiers. Our tap water is also hard and has a strong chlorine taste.I got very tired of getting nickeled and dimed to death on $2-3+ gallon bottles of distilled water, and just did the math on buying a distiller.I honestly don’t know why more people don’t own one now, after a few months of use! Each batch nearly fills a one gallon bottle to the top, so the water capacity is perfect. The water tastes and smells like distilled water, which is to say it doesn’t taste or smell like anything. The bottle is easy to use, it has never leaked a drop, and the self-contained, clean looks are great.Cleaning takes almost no time, just use 1-2 teaspoons of citric acid, HOT water, and turn it on for about 15 minutes. The hard water residue fizzles away nicely.I haven’t timed exactly how long it takes to distill a gallon, but my guess would be about 2-3 hours. Seems to be faster if you use hot water (obviously). As with any device that heats water to boiling, use common sense—don’t go pulling the lid off right or dumping water in to clean right after it finishes distilling.THE IMPORTANT PART: aside of whatever the cost is for electricity, citric acid, and filters, we haven’t spent a penny on distilled water since buying this awesome tool. After we distilled enough to pay for it, it’s now saving us money. We kept about 12 gallon bottles and one for tap water, and now have 12 gallons of emergency water on hand as well.If you’re in an area with questionable or nasty tap water, this will be much cheaper than a water filter (we tested that as well). Though some people say that dH2O can be hard on the stomach, I haven’t experienced it, nor can I find any studies to confirm. The only thing missing would be essential minerals. Fine by me, as the chlorine taste also disappears. If you’re on the fence like I was, go for it! You won’t be disappointed, and it’s super easy to clean and maintain, and you won’t have to needlessly buy a bunch of 1 gallon bottles.
