I put a ring on mine and it's still holding on firmly; so while the finish has a very slight texture, it's smooth enough to hold a ring securly (maybe depending on the ring; my ring is by Lamicoll).I have to admit I was disappointed in the slim selection for these Cloud 8 models but I'm very happy with this phone case.
