I'm not going to endorse this rope for climbing. I'm not a climber and if I was I'd probably be very selective about the brand rope I'd trust with my life. That said, this has been a great rope. It's thick and has a reasonable stretch. I've used it for tying cargo down and and outdoor swing. It's easy to work knots out that are meant to come undone when you're finished with them and holds the ones you want.
Good quality
this should suffice as a utility rope.I don't climb or rappel anymore, but this rope is ideal for hauling and lowering systems.
This 1/2 Inch x 200 Feet Double Braided Arborist Rope Polyester for Outdoor, Climbing, Hiking, Swing, Tree Work, Halyard, Sailing etc from the XINSHUNCAN Store seems to be a sturdy, durable, static line to use for climbing or as a general line. The half inch diameter is a double woven core with polyester outer sheath that is heat melted at both ends. I love the high visibility orange color and the general stiffness of the line. This is a static line, however, the polyester material does give a bit of stretch, especially at longer working lengths. As another reviewer pointed out, there is no testing standard attributed to this line, no tensile strength certification, nothing, nada, zip. I certainly feel comfortable with the quality (after looking over every inch of it) but if you are doing some rugged and dirty work way the heck up there, you might want to use this for securing tools and equipment instead of your own butt.Otherwise, it is easy to use, and easy to cut with a heat blade for parsing out other lengths. The value for the money is certainly there for 200ft of line, but again, without any certifications it is best used for rope swings, tie lines, and other non-death related activities. Also, the description says it can be used for towing...never use a line for towing. Snap back kills, get a chain.
The rope looks nice and feels pretty good quality, but I wouldn't recommend using it for climbing as they advertise. Using something for a critical life-supporting application like climbing or arborist safety lines means not only does a single sample need to be high quality, you need to be able to trust that EVERY product is high quality. I don't think it's possible to get that guarantee out of an alphabet-letter no-name brand compared to a trusted manufacturer. It's a 5 star rope for non-life-critical applications, but since it's advertised for climbing I don't think I can give it more than 3 stars because you'd be taking on a serious risk to yourself or others to trust something without a quality manufacturer, known batch and manufacturing dates, and a solid supply chain; soft goods like this WILL expire and can break down if improperly stored, and you just can't know for sure here.
Exactly what I thought it would be
bought for a rope bed looks gud
Nice inexpensive rope. NOT FOR CLIMBING!!! All "non climbing" inexpensive ropes "milk". The outer braided sheath slides and bunches up when the rope is worked hard, just like every inexpensive rope. (Real arborist climbing rope does NOT milk, the outer braid sheath stays put, it's 10x more expensive though :D ).GREAT for a general purpose rope and seems plenty strong.I used it bunch as a support rope for some arborist rigging and climbing. Perfectly suited for basic stuff.
