This watch appeared at just the right time. My wife was looking for a bracelet watch that looked more like a piece of jewelry than an actual watch but also wanted one that she didn’t need to replace the battery every few years. In fact, the reason she stopped wearing her last watch was because the battery died, and she never bothered to get it replaced. As luck would have it, my wife also happens to be a Disney fan. Not a fanatic, but a big enough fan that we go watch anything the company puts out. Her favorite Disney Princesses are Mulan and Belle, which are some of the ones she grew up with, but she loves a few of the classics. And fortunately for me, Cinderella just happens to be her favorite among the oldies. With a Cinderella-themed bracelet design and light-powered battery that should last a very long time without needing to be replaced, this checked all the boxes. And the best part is that it arrived just in time for Mother’s Day.The watch looks great in person. It’s small enough to appear more like a piece of jewelry with a nice gold-tone that doesn’t look or feel cheap. There’s a silhouette of Cinderella’s face, the glass slipper and the coach on the watch face, which look great against the blue background. I thought the similarly gold-tone hands might make it harder to read the time, but the gold on the hands are actually shinier than the gold used in the background, which makes them stand out. Additionally, I usually view diamonds on a watch as being gaudy, but the ones on here are well presented and look good right next to the crown.Of course, none of that would matter if my wife didn’t like it. Thankfully, she does. In fact, she liked it so when I gave it to her as a Mother’s Day gift (which was a surprise in itself since I usually just get flowers), that she wanted to get it resized right away. And while she did have to wait a day, now that it fits her wrist, she hasn’t taken it off yet (except to go to bed).All-in-all, I think the collab between Citizen and Disney on this Cinderella anniversary watch knocks it out of the park. I realize that the price might be a bit high for some and not everyone is a Cinderella fan. But the price likely takes into account the diamonds, sapphire crystal dial, and the fact that this watch is limited to 1,400 (as stated on the Disney website). I really believe it’s so nice that you don’t have to be a fan to enjoy this watch. And my experience with Citizen has also been great. The one I got as a HS graduation gift more than 30 years ago still works like a champ. Most importantly, this watch makes my wife happy. And if she’s happy, I’m happy.
