I would have given this phone 5 stars BUT the Dual SIM feature is either 2 nano SIMS or 1 nano SIM and 1 TF slot. There are not 3 slots in this one like my older Umidigi A7Pro.One of the reasons I bought this was for the DUAL SIM and TF capabilities. SO CHECK PHOTOS!My phone arrived with C-port cable, USB Plug especially for the Umidigi. USE THESE ONLY. Using generic cables seem to heat up the plug. It did this on ly older phone too. Also included was a clear case and it appears there is a screen protector already on the phone. There were NO start up instructions. But i'm familar with the brand, so it was just a matter of removing all the GOOGLE junk and installing my preferred apps. The phone does automatically search for other phones to download from, so if you have another Android and don't want that info imported, make sure to shut it off. Ditto with tablets.NOTE: These phones are designed to use SIM cards. Yes, you can use with WIFI/Internet by using the Settings - Network/Internet - Calls & SIMS and choose the option of Make Calls over Internet if your phone carrier does not offer unlimited.BUT, to use it as an "internet phone" with a different number (EXAMPLY MagicJack) you need to install your preferred APP.And, NOT all SIM cards from US cell phone carriers support this phone because it is an unlocked 3rd-party phone. I use this cell phone in Mexioc on a TelCel SIM. ATT would not support it because it is not on THEIR list of supported 5 g phones. So I carry an ATT branded Samsung in Mexico so I can get all those US text messages from ATT, Banks, etc. However, ATT uses Telcel towers - go figure and we don NOT have 5G in Mexico. LOLOk, last thing, if you receive yours with no insttructions, to open the SIM card Slot, you put the little key in the hole and PRESS DOWN. The door will pop up. The hole is not connected to the slot like most cell phones. That took me a minute to figure out LOLOverall, good phone. Has everything I expected and then some.Just a note to using C-ports. Do NOT use them plugged in while trying to charge and use your phone at the same time. It weakens the connection and the little bar inside the phone can break off (that's what happened on my phone and a tablet) and then you hace no way to charge the phone. You are better off putting your phone down and let it charge on a level surface. If I like thie one enough, I may buy Hubby one. He's 70 and its easier for me to have duplicate phones so I can help him with his. Did the same thing with tablets. LOLOverall a good value. I was offered a $20 automatic discount.

October 24, 2024 So, what is the big deal about 5G vs. 4G wireless service? An internet search of “is 5G better than 4G” produced a number of similar answers including: “The main advantages of 5G over 4G are that it offers faster potential speeds, much lower latency, and support for more simultaneous devices.” and “5G offers significantly faster downloads, quicker uploads, and more people to be connected at the same time. That means fewer delays when using your phone and accessing web content.”Next, I checked what my Canadian carrier is offering: “As Canada's largest 5G network, we cover over 32 million people in over 2,400 communities across the country.” I should be good to go with my current carrier, especially if 5G access is included in their plans at no extra cost. If you are curious, then “5G” stands for fifth generation while “5G+” (or the 3500 MHZ spectrum) is the latest network technology that will reportedly improve my carrier’s existing 5G network. While I checked to confirm that my home location is in the 5G coverage area, it seems that a cell phone is most often used when not at home. I’m satisfied that my carrier offers coverage which will be useful. Now, in order to take advantage of the benefits of a 5G network I need an enabled cell phone such as the Umidigi G9 5G while noting that my purchase of this phone is recent, and so these are my first impressions.A quick review of the specifications show that it possesses a number of worthwhile components such as a processor introduced earlier this year (2024). One review site says: “The Unisoc T765 is a mid-range chipset offering balanced performance, suitable for general smartphone tasks and moderately demanding games...” This is a Dual-SIM and Dual-Mode 5G processor. There is 6+6GB Extended RAM along with 128GB ROM. My preference is to use only on-board RAM, rather than extending it, for a seemingly faster experience (although who can really tell); however, your needs may require more RAM. It is always nice to have options. Users can add a SD card with the potential of up to 1TB of storage for photos and music. If you are into photography, then the G9 has three lenses: 50 MP, f/1.8 (wide), AF 2 MP f/2.4, (macro) and a 2 MP, f/2.4, (depth) plus a LED flash. While I have a macro lens for my DSLR camera, I haven’t seen one on a phone. I’m looking forward to using this feature. Recently the Northern Lights were very visible in my home town. Using a phone camera provided a great way to see and photograph this wonderful display in the night sky. The selfie camera is 8 MP f/2.2 (wide) with both front and rear cameras offering video.Other features which caught my eye include: the 5000mAh battery with fast 18W charging, the quality of the 6.75" 90Hz display, and a FM radio with built-in antenna thus providing the possibility of local information during power outages (e.g., weather events). The G9 5G package contains the phone, a pre-applied protective screen film, phone case, power adapter, C-type cable, etc. One quibble is the phone case which while seemingly flexible/durable is also quite opaque so the space black colour of the phone is not really evident. I’ll probably look around for another (perhaps black matte) case.As mentioned, I haven’t had this Umidigi G9 5G smartphone for long and so I’m looking forward to learning more about the included Android 14 operating system, security via a side fingerprint sensor or AI face unlock, and navigation using GPS, Glonass, Beidou, or Galileo. I’m very pleased with my purchase, especially with the potential of a fast 5G connection.Update: April 24, 2025 I've been using this phone for many weeks now and everything has been working as expected. Photos are fine, texting works great, and I have no complaints about the audio quality during telephone calls. I'm still happy with my purchase. Alas, I don't understand reviewers who haven't had a good experience.

This item is not a dual SIM phone as advertised. It can only take 1 SIM card and 1 SD/TIF card. Therefore the tray has 2 slots, but they are not the same. A true dual SIM phone has 3 slots in the pop-out tray: 2 SIM card slots and 1 SD/TIF slot. I bought this phone and had to return it. They replaced (without requiring me to return the first one) but sent me the same thing. They simply do not understand what is a dual SIM phone. You're better off sticking with established and reputable brands like Samsung that can and will provide you with true dual SIM phones in accordance with their sales description. That's what I eventually had to do.

Out of the box, the phone comes with a decent basic case and a pre-applied screen protector. Saves me time and money and the case gives me a good grip on the phone as I use it. I also like that a SIM tray popper is included. You can use two SIM cards or one SIM card and one micro-SD card. I personally use just one SIM and a 64 GB micro-SD card, as I did with the phone that this one replaced. For day to day use, I have nothing but nice things to say about the phone. 6 GB of RAM is a bit less than my prior phone, but I haven't noticed a difference. 128 GB of storage space is more than enough for me, since I use a micro-SD card for portable storage. 5G works flawlessly with upload and download speeds comparable to a friend's $1000+ phone. LTE kicks in quicker than my old phone would have, when 5G coverage is spotty. The camera takes pictures in all of the environments I tried (low light, outdoors, room light, and closeup) that I consider nice, but then I'm not too demanding. Calls have been clear for both me and whoever I am talking with. There is a headphone jack! No worrying about your bluetooth headset running out of battery power; can just plug in an old-fashioned set of earbuds. The one feature that is not included is NFC, which I don't use and always turn off on a phone that includes it. So, no loss for me and no criticism of the phone because of the omission.Battery life started out only ok (day and a half with light use) but increased substantially by the end of the first week of use (now nearly 3 days with light use).

I had been looking for a cost effective solution for my desire to move to 5G and also achieve high performance standards. I have previously own Umidigi cellphones and they have been exception devices. In fact they all still function perfectly, but as technology marches forward new devices are needed. That written I thought I should share my experiences with the Umidigi Note 100 5g. Setting the phone up took just minutes. Remember when it took hours to set up a phone. Not now, wow it was easy Connectivity is solid with no drops or deficiencies detected. Download 5G speeds are excellent and the handoffs to LTE are completely transparent. The camera is amazing, particularly the "on phone" editing. The tools are very effective in perfecting a picture, bringing it to the next level. Ditto for the video functionality. There are lots of video features and they work vey well. I have noticed that many people use their speaker phones and I am a member of that club. This feature is very refined, with no distortions or echoes and plenty of clear volume. The security systems work well with side button fingerprint reader and the facial recognition functioning flawlessly. Battery life stands out as one of the best phones I have owned. The phone charges very quickly with the two stage charger. I have used my phone on two different networks. T-Mobile and Mint. T-Mobile sent me a text saying they could not guarantee compatibility. I can write with confidence that there was not problem with compatibility on the T-Mobile network. Mint immediately approved the phone for their network and it has operating perfectly.I highly recommend the Umidigi Note 100 5G. This is an amazing phone at any price, but a really great value on Amazon.
