This thing is a piece of garbage, it had this weird humming sound and never cooled down any part of the room. It was a glorified face fan basically until it just completely stopped working less than 2 months later. Save your money look for a better product.
We bought this for camping. It was Terrible. Barely moved air. The water would leak and the unit felt cheap. There are better options.
The company makes this little portable AC made it seem like it will cool an entire room or even people outside. Doesn't really do that. I bought it so I could use it in my car since the AC just went out and I live in sunny Florida and it is HOT in June! I tried it out in the car and it just blew hot air around, even with the mist on, that is suppose to cool off the area. I tried it in the house that has AC and the mist option did blow out cold air, but putting the fan on high blows minimal air out. I have a oscillating fan in the room that blows better on low speed. I would have returned it BUT it does have one really nice feature: it has a USB port so you can attach it to a battery and run it without electricity. This is SUPER important to me because the power goes out here often and it can get really hot inside so this fan provides me an excellent plan B as long as I have my portable battery packs charged... If not for this feature, I would have returned it. Not really a room cooling device by any means. Maybe will be better if use the ice in the water method.
Why did you pick this product vs others?:Vegas heat in the summers are beyond brutal. I've gone thru so many of these little Evap coolers it's a crime all the money I've wasted. This is the one yall. But !! But !! But ! Let me tell you the cons. So this unit is in no way going to replace your central air, nor your window unit or floor model portable okay. But it's great as a supplement personal use cooler. All you do is add cold water or chilled water or even add some ice and sit this thing close to where you sit or sleep and it will keep you cool. Here is the trick though. If you can get your room temperature down to 80, 85 degrees, this little guy will keep you and your immediate area cool. So agian use it as a supplement not a primary cooler it will not decrease a 90 degree room down to 80. It just wont do it. This unit only draws 5 watts and uses a USB charger, the savings in energy is phenomenal. Once you fill it up with water, I swear the water takes hours to evaporate. 5, 6 hours and the mist stays cool. Best little evap unit ever. Now this thing does cause your room to be very humid. So when you aren't using it you may want to de humidity your space. Or crack a window. Much Luck yall.
Air cooling:Not as effective as i had hoped it would be. Even with ice in the tray it pushes out room temperature air. So wouldnt really categorise it as an AC, rather just a small fan.
Your product description shows this as a portable AIR CONDITIONER. It wasn't until I received the product and looked at the detail paperwork where it states, "this is a personal air product - not a room air conditioner"VERY Misleading description...This is a personal fan, which is not worth it. I wouldn't pay $70 for a personal fan...
One Month Update:Location - central FLUse Case - GARAGE (two car; south facing)I work from home a lot of the time and the garage is my only escape from two wild toddlers. This unit keeps me nice and cool and has no problem running 4-8 hours on a regular basis - so far.Biggest benefit for me is just simply staying engaged with my desk work because I’m not getting hot. The noise from the fan and cooling units both on full blast is no distraction at all. Where it really shines is keeping me comfortable in the hottest part of the day of hot and humid (Lake Co.) central FL summertime. I realized while typing this that even one month of solid use is worth the cost and I’d gladly pay that monthly as a hypothetical subscription. I like this thing - a lot.
Sounds too loud.
I love this thing. It got a good radius in where it cools down it kept my bedroom cool for the winter. The tank didn’t empty as fast as I thought it would and the air misters worked amazingly.
