'Trench Coat' has “felt-like” texture and is a brushed or napped 100% polyester fabric, not wool or a wool blend. Characteristics:1. Material• Polyester thermal fabric here means a dense, brushed finish that traps air for insulation.• The outside has a melton-like appearance, but the fibers are synthetic, so there’s no lanolin and no natural moisture regulation like wool.• The lining is almost certainly also polyester (common in coats at this price point).2. GSM EstimateXXL coat weighs 1322 g. Polyester is lighter than wool for the same thickness, so the fabric weight is fairly high for synthetic:• Estimated total fabric area for an XXL coat (shell + lining) ≈ 3.2 m².• GSM ≈ 1322 g ÷ 3.2 m² ≈ 413 g/m² (this is heavy for polyester and explains the substantial feel).3. Water Resistance• Polyester fibers themselves don’t absorb water like wool or cotton, so the fabric will resist soaking longer.• However, because it’s not tightly woven like a ripstop or twill shell, and because the nap can hold surface moisture, it’s not truly waterproof. In steady rain, water will seep between fibers and into the lining.• A spray-on DWR treatment would improve performance in wet weather.4. Warmth• Thermal effect comes mainly from trapped air in the brushed nap + full lining.• Performs well in moderate cold/dry conditions, but in wind-driven rain it will lose insulation quickly unless layered under a shell. Now the big question: How cold can it get and you would still feel warm?Lets develop estimates based on underneath single layer t-shirt and chino-type pants:With just a T-shirt and chinos under this coat, expect comfort only in cool weather - not true winter. Think of it like a heavy melton-style polyester top layer with minimal wind block and no insulation in the legs.Practical comfort range (wind-chill factor -WCF)• Light walking (errands, steady pace): comfortable down to about 25 - 30°F wind-chill.• Examples that match ~25 - 30°F wind-chill:• 35°F with 10 mph wind → ~27°F WCT (OK)• 30°F with 5 mph wind → ~25°F WCT (OK)• Standing around (bus stop, watching a game): aim for ≥35–40°F wind-chill.• Examples:• 40°F with 10 mph → ~34°F WCT (OK)• 45°F with 15–20 mph → ~38–37°F WCT (OK)Below those wind-chill numbers you’ll likely feel cold at the chest (wind leakage) and especially in the legs, since chinos add little insulation. How to push it colder (rough rule-of-thumb improvements)• Add a mid-layer (fleece/sweater): warmer by ~10 - 15°F equivalent.• Block wind with a shell over the coat (or a scarf/zip fully): +5 - 10°F.• Swap chinos for lined pants/thermal bottoms: +5 - 10°FTo Summarize, this coat - without layering - would be suitable for Fall-type weather in Upstate New York through October or very early November. Later - layering would be needed..5 stars - as a Fall coat in Upstate NYFall coat suitable through October in Upstate NY. Later - need layering.

This is a nice looking coat. It is made out of a fleece looking material. It is soft amd certainly made for cold weather. It buttons all the way up but I find it more comfortable and better looking with the top buttons undone and the collar out.The one negative I have not found in the several other coats in this brand is the material. Its just not quite as nice as the others and there are a few wrinkles and I dont know if those are easy to deal with or not, I also would personally not button the top button, a personal choice. Its amazing that the tags on these I own say they are washable. I have not washed it but if I feel daring and go for it even being brand new I will report the results in an update here. Not having to dry clean at least the 4 long coats I have by this brand will save alot of money. No others came with wrinkles but could be packing, I dont know, I just have to be honest with both the pluses and potential minuses. If the few wrinkle go away I will put another star on.One thing to note about this brand is they run small. The first shirt I got was my usual XL and too small. I looked at the sizing chart and it made sense. Since then I order XXL and perfect. But do measure or compare to a known sizing chart out of the long coats I have from this brand I think this needs to be the correct size as much as any. They make lots of nice clothes, I wish they used US size charts.I usually wear an XL. In other items by this brand XL was too small but when I changed to XXL they fit properly like normal US sizing.I would be careful to use the size chart and for me automatically go up one size on all.their item as my normal US XL size was too small to be unwearable.

I wanted an inexpensive coat that I could wear over my suit, so I ordered this black trench coat in a size large from Runcati. It is certainly an example of you get what you pay for. The coat came vacuum sealed which was fine, but this added a lot of hard creases that needed to be ironed out.The fabric is cheap-feeling, and the buttons are larger than I would like. However, it fits and looks fine for the rare occasions that I need it. For the price it is adequate, but you can probably find a much nicer one for a little more money.

I was pleasantly surprised by this coat from the moment I took it out of the packaging. For the price point, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it feels far more expensive than it actually is. The wool blend has a nice weight to it — heavy enough to provide warmth in colder weather, but not so bulky that it feels uncomfortable or restrictive. It strikes a good balance between function and style. The fit is excellent. I ordered my usual size, and it sits just right across the shoulders without being too tight or too loose. The slim cut adds a modern look, but it’s not overly snug, so layering with a sweater underneath is still possible. The notched collar and mid-length design give it that classic trench coat feel, and I’ve already gotten a few compliments while wearing it out.Construction-wise, the stitching is neat and solid, and the lining feels smooth and durable. Buttons are securely fastened, and nothing about it comes across as cheap or flimsy. This is a coat I could see lasting through multiple winters without issue.Overall, I really like this piece. It delivers quality, warmth, and style at a very fair price. Whether for casual wear, business attire, or going out in colder weather, this coat feels like a versatile addition to my wardrobe.
