I used these shrimp fishing hooks in the river by my property and they worked great. It’s really easy to hook up the shrimp and the design keeps them secure and alive longer which definitely helped attract more bites. The fish seem to love it especially the catfish which were hitting more than usual. The hooks themselves are solid. They feel strong and well made and they held up really well even after a full day of fishing. I didn’t have any issues with bending or rust and the barbed design helped keep the fish on once they bit.I also like that they come in different sizes so I could adjust depending on the bait and what I was targeting. Whether you’re fishing freshwater or saltwater these are a great option. Super easy to use and definitely something I’ll keep in my tackle box going forward.

Curious hooks made specifically to hold shrimp but work the other types of live bait. Did seem to hold the bait for a decent amount of time…but hard to distinguish if much longer than our usual way.Barbed non circle design. Worked fine in the Delta for whatever came our way) and caught a nice catfish on another trip.

This product was fine. I don’t have strong feelings one way or the other, but it does what it says. The hooks seem sturdy and well-made, and they worked as expected in both freshwater and saltwater. I didn’t notice a huge difference in how long the bait stayed alive, but it was easy enough to use. Overall, a solid option if you’re looking for live shrimp hooks, especially with the different size options included.

Natufish live shrimp fishing hooks are purpose-built to secure live shrimp without piercing vital areas, preserving their natural movement and vitality for longer periods. They utilize a barbed cradle design, enabling the shrimp to swim freely while rigged, increasing its appeal to predatory fish. This method aligns with expert angler recommendations: lighter-wire hooks (such as Kahle-style holders) are preferred for hooking live shrimp because they penetrate without damaging organs and improve survival and hook-up rates (live bait tips from fishing forums). In terms of build quality, these hooks are crafted from carbon steel with fine barbing and slender wire, offering enough strength for small to medium saltwater species while maintaining minimal hook weight to avoid bait drag. User commentary on similar hook styles confirms they maintain shrimp integrity and promote lifelike presentation—key for enticing fish strikes . Their design supports delicate mounting methods such as threading through the tail or under the shell without piercing the shrimp’s midsection—a technique widely endorsed by rigging experts.Handling and rigging are intuitive: you position the shrimp in the hook cradle, securing it gently, and the shallow insertion reduces stress while maximizing bait life. Once in motion, the shrimp exhibits a natural kick and lifelike behavior that anglers say boosts strike rates for species like trout, redfish, and snook. The major limitation is their niche use. These hooks are not meant for deep hooking or large bait applications and should not be used for conventional lure setups or hard-hook rigs. Rigging correctly involves a learning curve; improper mounting can injure the shrimp and reduce hook up performance. A common forum consensus is that fish bite rates improve noticeably when shrimp are hooked properly, but mis-rigs reduce effectiveness substantially.⸻Final Verdict:Natufish live shrimp hooks deliver exceptional bait preservation and lifelike presentation for anglers targeting shrimp-loving species. They earn 4 out of 5 stars, losing only a point due to their specialized use and the need for careful rigging technique. Ideal for surf or inshore anglers who use live shrimp and seek a tool to keep bait alive longer and improve natural presentation—just be sure to practice proper mounting for best results.
