The MOBO looks great and had everything I needed. The writing, while looks super yellow and I would have preferred it to be more subdued, reallt isnt noticeable inside my case. There reallt isnt much else to say, other than the first order I placed, I received a used MOBO, but I returned it and the second one was new. If youre looking form a B850 MOBO, this one is a great option.
great performance, excellent build quality, fast wifi
Just a little backstory, I used my previous motherboard MSI Z97-G45 with a i7-4790k cpu for about 11 years. It served me well but that CPU near its end of lifecycle (Win 10 support no more Oct 2025) and gaming performance not adequate for my needs.Fast Forward to 2025, I got the Ryzen 9800x3d, 32GB DDR5 RAM CL30, this motherboard, and Corsair Nautilus 240 RS liquid cooler. I'm reusing my RTX 3070 GPU, c70 pc case, corsair 650w PSU, couple of HDDs, and 1 SATA 2.5 SSD to cut down cost. What attracted me to this board was the cpu worked right out of the box. No bios flashing was required. One less headache to deal with and the quicker I can set up my computer.Gaming performance is fantastic, it knocks my socks off. I'm able to get 100-300 fps on 1440p with DLSS on my ASUS XG27ACDNG 1440 Oled monitor depending on the game. One thing I really liked about this board was the EZ button for the GPU slot. No longer I had to get my hands in an awkward tight position to remove my GPU. All you have to do now is press that button and it comes out. Simplicity at its best!Just a fair warning that there is no paper booklet / manual inside the box. I had to look it up online on my phone to read the manual. It's not a big deal, it's probably standard to go paperless this day and age. Also this motherboard is only for Windows 11.Since I reused my old C70 vengeance case, I didn't have front USB 3.0 or USB Type-C headers to use these ports. Doesn't bother me since USB 2.0 suits me just fine. Buy a new pc case if you want to use these functions. It also comes with a Wifi 7 antenna since I'm an oldie using a wifi5 router, it wouldn't enhance my speed. There are also RGB leds on the board if you want to make your pc look nice.So far my pc runs like a dream. Pc boots up in around 1-2 mins with a sata ssd. There are m.2 slots and it looks relatively easy to install nvme drives. One wierd thing I noticed when I have 2 monitors plugged in with display ports connectivity, during boot process, it will go to my 2nd monitor, then go back to my 1st monitor. Just nitpicking, not a big deal.I'm still completely satisfied with this motherboard even though I'm an oldie whom doesn't use all the newest features. Thanks MSI!
Awesome board. Easy to setup. The PCIE slot for your GPU has a push button release which works well.. The NVME slots are also toolless. It's a well made part which I have confidence in. I am pairing it with a 7800x3d and some team group ddr5 6000 cl30 and the system is stable and fast. Really happy with it.
The MSI MAG B850 Tomahawk MAX WiFi is easily one of the best AM5 boards in its class. It offers stable performance, excellent VRM cooling, and a clean layout that makes building straightforward. The BIOS is intuitive, especially for anyone looking to dial in PBO or Curve Optimizer settings, and memory tuning is rock solid — I’ve manually adjusted DDR5 timings and passed full OCCT certification without a single issue. You get support for Gen5 M.2, PCIe 5.0, 5G LAN, and WiFi 7, which gives this board plenty of headroom for future upgrades. MSI also included useful features like debug LEDs and BIOS Flashback, which make it easy to recover from failed overclocks or memory missteps. If you’re building a high-performance Ryzen system and want tuning flexibility without spending top dollar, this board delivers in every category.
Chegou rápido, excelente produto.
Exceptional quality! I love the colors and amount of Argb connectors. There's 3 of them on the motherboard, and the last one is on a 1 in 3 cable that also has a PWM port and I assume a RGB port.I upgraded from an ASUS b650E-F having instability problems and I absolutely prefer the bios on the motherboard. The buttons on the I/O to clear CMOS and update BIOS with one click of a button made setting up the motherboard quick an easy. The boot time is slightly shorter than my previous motherboard and the easy remove feature for installing SSDs is cool to use as well as being easy.
This motherboard by MSI in my opinion is a fantastic budget board making it a better purchase than the B650 which has been discontinued. The build quality in the motherboard is solid, nothing feels flimsy, the heatsinks are solid metal, the IO Shield is solid, it fit in my case great! The motherboard is compatible from boot with most AM5 sockets, especially the 7800/9800X3D, I had no issues on the first boot.A wonderful feature msi has implemented on this board is the button near the solid heatsink that unlatches the GPU when pushed. This makes maintenance and upgrading on this motherboard stupid easy. Everything is simple and not overcomplicated. The looks are iffy, the tomahawk design could have been there, but the green just ruins it for me, I wish MSI went with a different color because the green they use is what really makes my build off putting. The USB ports on this motherboard are fantastic, I can plug all devices I need into the rear with fast transfer speeds from each.Overall, this motherboard is fantastic, if this is on sale this is a DEFINITE purchase for me!
Took 2 weeks to arrive in a damaged box that had a used item in it and when I tried to check if it was working I noticed damac motherboard /CPU pins
The motherboard arrived in great condition, and once I had my PC set up, it's been working just fine as a motherboard. Keep in mind that this board does have limitations on what storage drives they can support, so if you plan on carrying over your OS drive from your old build, be sure to check for compatibility. Also, be prepared to transfer over to Windows 11, as the drivers for everything will not support Windows 10. With Windows 11, however, everything works perfectly, and the bios is very intuitive to work through. I also like that there's multiple M.2 slots for expanding storage in the future.Highly recommend if you can get it on sale.
This board is amazing and does a great job for everything I need, and has mostly all the things I was looking for, and I highly suggest this board for everyone who needs the capacity for storage and easy NVMe installation, not to mention the GPU installation too.
