08-03-2026We got this shirt for our daughter to use as a plain dark layer under t-shirts, since that comes in handy from time to time. (Think wearing a competition t-shirt in winter.) For the purpose, this shirt works just fine.The material is cotton with a little spandex for stretch, and it is soft to the touch. It washed up nicely with no tremendous shrinkage.The fit is boxy and loose at her actual age size (13-14), though she's thin. I wouldn't want to size down, though, because of her torso length, so I'll say this fits true to size but is rather shapeless.The neckline is a high crew cut. There's no shaping to the body of the shirt so it's a unisex fit. The sleeves come down just to the wrist with no extra coverage.This will work as a layering shirt because it's lightweight and soft. However, a more fitted option would work even better for the purpose of layering, and it would be expected since it's marketed as a girl's shirt.
