We erred on the side of caution and ordered a size up because it says slim fit. Unfortunately, we should have stuck with his normal size, it was too big. But the cut and style, and quality was great. Great looking retro suit, Definitely a good price for it. Will be ordering the right size in a couple colors. The brown was a warm chocolate color, the herringbone looks timeless.
Retro 2 Pieces Suit Men Slim Fit Formal Double Breasted Tweed 6x The size chart only goes to 3x but they sell up to a 6x so I had to guess on size. For $89.99 I would recommend they fix the size chart. The material is nice the black is a good deep black. The breast pocket is fake. The jacket arm length are perfect but its too small wont shut. The pants fit very tight. If size chart would have went up to the 6x we could have made a better informed decision.
Very nice quality but I chose a size too small.i immediately ordered the bigger size. suit quality
This suit nails the balance between vintage flair and everyday practicality. The cut is slim but not suffocating, though it does demand a little honesty about body size. For reference, I’m 6’7” and around 315lbs, and the 4XL fit me just right for how I like to wear it…with a colored tee and the coat open. The fabric brings that classic tweed heft, and the herringbone pattern adds an old school character that works equally well with dress shoes or crisp sneakers. The stretch in the waistband is a blessing if you’re the type to linger through a long dinner or sit through speeches at weddings. Is it bespoke? No. A tailor could still fine tune it for a perfect fit. But for weddings, formal events, or just leaning into retro style without emptying your bank account, it’s a solid bet.
This double-breasted suit has a sharp design and a heavier tweed herringbone fabric that works well for cooler seasons. The stretch waistband on the pants adds comfort, and it can work for casual dinners or smart-casual events. However, the overall quality reflects its budget price point. The material attracts lint and dust, arrives wrinkled, and carries a slightly old-fashioned vibe. While it can look nice with some effort, it falls short of feeling truly polished or formal.Pros- Double-breasted style offers a classic, refined look- Heavier tweed material feels warm and seasonal- Comfortable pants with stretch waistband- Suitable for casual dinners or low-key eventsCons- Attracts lint and dust, requiring frequent care- Feels cheap up close and lacks a premium finish- Arrives wrinkled and needs steaming or ironing- “Old-fashioned” styling may not suit all tastes- Not ideal for formal or business eventsStar Rating: ★★★☆☆ (3/5)A decent, affordable option for casual occasions, but it requires extra care and lacks the quality for more formal settings.
OK, this could have been one of my favorite suits. It's a nice, heavyweight material, the construction seems solid, and the stitching is good. It's not lined like my other suits, so that might be an issue for many.I do have a few issues, and they are probably largely my fault. First off, there's slim fit, and then there's "slim fit." I'm not one of those guys who can typically wear a suit straight off the rack. Even though I'm not a gym rat, I've got bodybuilder thighs - genetics, not work. Sometimes though, I can get a suit that's a couple of sizes too big, and it provides enough room for my thighs while only requiring a few minor alterations to fit perfectly. Not this time. I got the pants hemmed because the tailors always assume that someone with a certain waist and chest is about 4 inches taller than I am. Again, this is the slim fit issue. Once I got it back, and the length was right, I realized there's also too much room in the crotch and the arms are a bit too long. I'm having those fixed now. And they are still brushing my thighs - not tight, but also not loose. All-in-all, I'm having about $70 worth of tailoring to make it fit me.These are largely my fault, though. If they made a more traditional or classic fit, I'd be all over it. The one legitimate beef I have is that they call it a "retro" 2 piece suit. If you look at the buttons on the sleeve though, they overlap. My tailor says that this is the currect fashion, but I have a problem with a suit tailored in the current fashion masquerading as "retro."In summary - if you are a slim fit, can wear suits stright off the rack, and are OK with overlapping buttons - this would likely be a great suit for you. 4 stars.
