I received this recently and have been wearing it through the cooler mornings and evenings. The mid-long length hits about mid-thigh on me (I’m ~5’10”), which gives it a grounded silhouette that feels purposeful rather than oversized. The detachable hood is a thoughtful addition—it gives a bit of extra weather protection when needed, and comes off cleanly when I don’t want the bulk. The exterior fabric resists wind and light drizzle better than my earlier coats, and the finish looks sharper than many budget “winter coats.” The internal lining provides decent warmth when paired with a mid-weight sweater, making this a good choice for fall through early winter. On the flip side: while the size chart was helpful, I found the fit is slightly slim across the shoulders, so if you carry items in your breast pocket (phone, small notebook) you might notice a little pull. Also, for very cold days (below 25°F) you’ll want a heavier under-layer or an additional insulating layer—this coat performs well, but it isn’t built like an expedition parka. Lastly, the detachable hood is convenient, but the zipper is a bit rigid at first and takes a couple of uses to ease up.Overall: this is a solid outerwear piece that hits a strong balance of style, function, and value. It doesn’t pretend to be designer luxury, but it looks sharp enough for business casual wear and performs well enough for everyday cold-weather use.
The Runcati Mens Trench Coat Single Breasted Mid-Long Pea Coat is a bit lighter and not as roomy as I expect from a Pea Coat. The XL size is a bit snug for my normal L to LX frame with 38 waist. I was hoping for a warm Pea Coat that could be worn over a winter sports jacket for semi formal gatherings. There is not enough room to fit the provided dickie collar insert less a sports coat. The only use left for this coat is to wear it over a cardigan sweater or heavy flannel for warmth in the winter.Frankly I don't get nor like the dickie/hoodie insert. It simply is not my style as I always wear a hat. I immediately zipped it out after trying it. It feels uncomfortable and looks out of place to me.The materials and craftsmanship of the garment appear excellent however the Pea Coats I am used to seeing are much heavier. The buttons are full but the cut of the upper body is designed for the insert and without it it leaves the upper chest un protected. The price for the coat is very reasonable and if it's your style you may like it but I would recommend sizing it up one level.
Now that it's getting that late fall chill, I've had a chance to really test this jacket. I like it quite a lot. It looks really modern and sleek to me. This will give a decent amount of warmth. I don't think it's quite enough for the truly cold days, but with some layering it will certainly be okay. The fact that this is mid length means I'm getting good coverage with it. The quality is only okay. It deinitely feels cheaper than my nicer pea coats. There's just a noticeable quality difference. Also in the picture it looks quite bulky on the model, but I find it to be a little tight. Taking out the hoodie certainly helps. Overall not bad at all and for the price a pretty good value.
Very nice quality for the price
I ordered the Runcati Men's Trench Coat, specifically the Single Breasted Mid-Long Pea Coat with Detachable Hood in black, for my husband, and I couldn't be happier with my choice. The coat looks absolutely terrific on him and has quickly become a staple in his winter wardrobe. One of the standout features is the deep pockets, which are perfect for keeping his hands warm or storing small essentials. He finds the coat incredibly comfortable, and the detachable hood is fantastic for those inclement weather days. Not only is it functional, but it also has a classic and dressy aesthetic, making it perfect for both business and casual wear. The stylish design is enhanced by thoughtful details, such as the combination of zips and buttons, which add to its overall appeal. The coat has a nice weight to it, providing warmth without feeling bulky. With its fabulous fit and terrific quality, I genuinely think this jacket is a great value. It’s been a great addition to my husband's collection. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a versatile and stylish winter jacket!
I really like how it looks. It feels good and it also seems like it will keep me warm in the South Dakota winter.
