I like to fish, as does my wife who is new to the sport. I've been teaching her to use a spinning reel, so she's ready for her own rod and reel. This spinning rod is a high quality carbon fiber, so it's nearly unbreakable and being a medium action/flex it's perfect for light fresh water species like trout and walleye. Its construction is highly functional given there is no cork handle to degrade, which means the mice in the garage won't have the cork to eat. The synthetic handle is super durable and makes it a great value for the money. The length of the handle makes it easy to cast longer distances. The overall look is very modern and purple is a great color.

I have had a chance to use quite a few of these Sougayilang budget fishing rods and I've never bought one that wasn't worth the money. This one has good feel, easy casting and all of the right features for very little money. You just can't go wrong for $30. The very special feature I spoke of is that it's purple.My girlfriend's daughter went absolutely crazy when she saw that I had "bought her a purple fishing pole". It was at that point that I had absolutely no chance of keeping the rod for myself because she had essentially staked her claim to it. She's 12 and she knows how to handle a spinning rod and she really handles it well. She used it the last few months of the summer and took very good care of it. The best part is if she had gotten careless with it for $30.00 I could have got her another one in a few days. That's the best thing about her having this rod from my POV, it's easy to replace. No tears need be shed if it's broken! This is a good rod for a beginner or for that special female fisher-person in your life. I did not know how much young girls love purple- "WAY more than pink" I am told.

This rod is very sensitive with a strong backbone and comfortable handle. The purple color is striking and should stand out among your peers' gear. The screw down reel seat is easy to adjust and holds my baitcast reel securely. The guides on the rod are strong and the rod also includes a small eyelet to attach your snap or lure into when traveling. I think this rod will work well for the bass I fish for in small ponds and lakes.

I have a few fishing products now from Sougayilang, and while the name is a mouth full to say, the value in their products is top notch. This is one of the best values for money I've experienced with fishing gear. This rod is light but strong, and well balanced. I've paid much more money for rods that aren't as nice as this one.

Good pole except for how high the reel seat is on the pole.other than that great pole

I think if you're trying to get into fishing, this is a great rod to get and if you like purple. I'm not an expert angler myself but it feels good using it.Since I casually fish, I chose the medium fast. The build quality is surprisingly good for the price. I didn't feel like it'll break suddenly when reeling in a fish within the rod's limit. The reel seat held my spinning reel nice and tight. The grip is comfortable.I'm not going to cut this thing in half to see if it's actually made out of IM6 graphite so I'll take their word for it.Overall this is a great buy for beginners and even experts to piece together your own gear if you like purple.
