08-03-2026These fishing hooks are worse than worthless. Besides the fact that they do not catch fish, you are wasting whatever money you spent on live shrimp bait.I purchased 3 sizes. With medium shrimp, even the smallest hook was waaaay too large. I had to twist the rubber band three times to get it short enough for the wedge end to hook the back of the carapace. Due to this, many shrimp just wiggled off the hook.The hook is close to the head. It faces the tail. The shape of the tail pulls the bait as far away from the hook as shrimpenly possible, so fish that attack by tail biting prey, are kept safely away from the hook. If the target fish attacks from the head, the hook is facing backwards.This hook is a gimmick. It is real good at hooking novice fishermen, it is not good at catching fish.If I had not used a couple hooks, I think I lost 1 or 2 in the jetties, I would return them all.Do NOT recommend, will NEVER purchase again.

08-03-2026Item arrives shrink wrapped in a plastic clam shell.Each hook is protected with a plastic cover which needs to be cut off. The red version has the plastic shrunken onto the barb, so it isn't easy to see.Going to try them out next week, but wanted to report that I like the idea. The stainless hooks are sharp.The rubber ring will eventually fail, but the hook appears to be solid, so repurpose!
