08-03-2026This tool box is NOT the dimensions listed in the photo, so be aware of that if you are looking for specific dimensions. I detest false information provided by sellers and considered giving this a 2 or 3 star review as a result, but the box is overall as pictured and quite nice.HOWEVER I also want to warn you my box came damaged! The toolbox was well packaged in bubble wrap and a sturdy box, and I did request the Amazon packaging (which for my item was a sturdy one of those wrap to size boxes) as well as the manufacturer packaging to try to avoid having it damaged in transit (was concerned about dents). There was no damage to either box upon arrival, but the front loop (where you could place a lock) was bent right off to the side, making it impossible to open the box. I was rather impressed with the quality of the metal as neither my husband nor I could possibly bend it back into place. He was able to fix it with pliers, but this never should have happened or been shipped this way.Once getting the box to be operational, I am very pleased with it. The metal and finish seems to be good quality, with no sharp edges. I don't love that the finish is matte and seems to attract finger prints. The little feet made into the bottom of the box ease my worries about scratching surfaces when setting the box down, and the hinges also seem good. The insert fits nicely on little platforms on the sides, and the size seems perfect for my needs. This will be a nice upgrade to my little tool bag with basic hand tools.I think overall it is a nice box and better quality than I would have anticipated. For me, the heavyweight metal and lack of places to cut myself while grabbing tools make it worth the $40 price point, but you will need to check if the smaller size as shown in my review photos will work for you, and also if you are ok with having to get out your pliers and repair the latch if this is a common issue.
