Going into winter, the only thing I look forward to is all the gorgeous cold weather coats, accessories, and sweaters. There are so many styles to choose from, each one unique in function and the way it impacts a look overall. My son already has a very heavy puffer coat that keeps him warm on the coldest days, but he didn’t have anything more polished and a little dressier. This boy’s plaid dress coat is such a classic style; it appeared to be elevated as well as being very warm. I was hopeful that once it arrived, my son would like it as much as I did. After our order was delivered and unpacked, I spent some time steaming it and smoothing out the wrinkles that formed while it was folded up during shipment. That always gives me a good opportunity to take a close look at a new garment so I can gauge quality. With this coat, the only quality issue I noticed was pattern mismatch. But it wasn’t so mismatched along the seams that it was bothersome.I ordered it in a size 14 for my 12 year old son. He sprouted up by a few inches just this summer and now he’s about 5’6” and very slim. The size 14 was perfect for him, with a little extra room to grow; both sleeves offered plenty of length, and the coat itself fell right above his knees. It is also lined underneath. It’s made entirely from polyester, it looks and feels like wool. The integrity and quality of the fabric is incredible! It feels like it will offer quite a bit of warmth, and it is soft to the touch and my son said it was very comfortable. He had no complaints about the texture of it, he said it did not make him itchy or bother him in any way. He looks so handsome in it!This is such a stunning coat for boys- it left me speechless. I cannot get over how affordable it is; it looks and feels significantly more expensive. Immediately, I could see the transformative effect it had on my son the moment he settled into it. He began to stand a bit taller, and his body language projected total confidence and poise. I was very pleasantly surprised to learn that my son liked it even more than I did. I would highly recommend this coat to any parents of boys who are looking for a warm winter coat that is also suitable for them to wear on special occasions.
Absolutely in love with this coat! SO STRIKINGLY CUTE! It is perfect for fall and warmer winter days— I’m in Colorado and dealing with massive confusion on how to dress my boys, since it’ll be literally 30 degrees in the morning and 80 degrees at 2pm, like, ahhh! But this coat has made my life so much easier for days both like that, as well as crisp days. I realized that I could probably even put a winter coat over it in the morning so that as it warms up, my kindergartner can then not have to wear a big poofy jacket for afternoon recess when the weather is so-so.It’s just like an adult pea coat, wool, lined with that smooth swishy tan fabric inside, all throughout, including inside the sleeves (that isn’t cheap to do!) this designer (do we call kids clothes brands designers? lol) Haloumoning, I have been blessed with the opportunity to test several shirts and pants they make, and I have purchased 5 colored polo shirts from them — they have held up and held their gorgeous colors since school started. (Recommend them 100%)It suggests hand washing and line drying or dry cleaning, (see photo of tag) I couldn’t afford to dry clean test, but I hand washed in kitchen sink (I wish I had one of those laundry sinks! If you do, I hope you feel as lucky as you are!) Mine hadn’t NEEDED to be washed yet, but I wanted to be able to give a thorough review. After squishing out the water as best as i could, I flattened it really well to its shape, put on a hanger and hung on the shower pole thing—opted for a total free hang, usually I’d put something on a hook against a door with a towel, but that didn’t feel right. After it was dry, it had the feeling that everything that air dries does, so I popped it in the dryer on the lowest/no heat air fluff, and I stood there, didn’t just let it go, I’m new to wool but I felt like it could frizz fast. I did this for about 10 minutes, checking it every 2, and it’s exactly as it was!! I’m a broke disabled single mom, but I try extremely hard to make sure my boys don’t *feel* like they are poor. I ALWAYS style their hair..Even though they are in public school, I put them in an array of colored, collared shirts—some solid colored athletic pants and cute sweatsuit sets, but largely stay in or around the perimeters of what a charter/private school would require. In my opinion, it makes it much less stressful to decide what matches, and even though they are just in kindergarten and pre-preschool, I hope that it sets a standard for what to wear to school, so I don’t have to deal with shirts covered in paw patrol and random decals..there’s a word for these but I’m blanking. My mom who i live with has fought me on it, “why don’t you let THEM pick out what they want to wear!” (Even though they aren’t arguing about it at all or asking to wear something else! ) I’m like, Well, I am about to be 40 and have lived in your basement for 15 years, maybe I had too many choices as a kid, lol.Point being that, I mean it certainly could be worn with a paw patrol shirt, but it looks SO sleek with a polo. True to size, my son is 5, I got the 5-6, it’s perfect.I’ve had it in use for about 2 months with 1 wash, and it’s held up wonderfully—considering that, as well as the quality in the fabric and craftsmanship, shockingly super value at $19.99!
Many years ago, back in the last century, my roommate had a vintage men's blazer that was a red plaid. I borrowed it all the time and miss it to this day, to the point that I scour thrift stores always on the lookout for som'n similar. And then I saw this coat! Yes, it's a boy's coat! Luckily I'm 5'2" and 111 lbs so it fits me! It's so comfy, with great pockets and such style! I can't wait for the weather to get colder so I can wear it ALL THE TIME!
I bought this coat for my little boy so he would have something dressy for the winter. I was expecting something far worse than what I got, especially at a $30 price point.Starting off, let me just talk about the quality. The coat is very well made and even includes a liner (definitely wasn't expecting that. The wool is also very thick and durable, I don't think we'll have an issue with it creasing and falling apart. It feels (size adjusted) about the same density/weight of my pea coat, which was definitely way out of the quality level I was expecting.Style-wise, it looks great. The pattern makes it very versatile, and the the colors (I opted for the Wine Red) is a great seasonal match for fall and winter. Not only does he find it comfortable, but his younger brother won't stop putting it on and wearing it around (all the time looking like he's headed off for wizard school). In case you couldn't tell, I'm VERY impressed with the coat at this price point. I truly don't believe this is a $30 (or even $25 as of right now) coat. I'd expect to pay closer double that in a store for something of this quality.I have no issue at all giving this a five-star review. Stellar buy.
