Tommy Hilfiger mens Core Oxford Solid Tie – Classic Business & Formal Neckwear

This is a nicely made and designed Hilfiger Oxford Tie. On the surface it looks just basic. It has a solid color with no detailed design on the front. But, the feel and quality is what makes this tie seem premium. It's made of a blend of silk and polyester. I wasn't too pleased after knowing that polyester was used, but the silk blended with the polyester, gives it a silky texture that feels good in hand. The material also feels durable. The back of the tie is where you'll see more design. The Tommy Hilfiger logo is attached, as well as engraved into the silk backing, giving it a premium look and feel. Overall the tie looks and lays well from the neck. It has a light finish that makes it stand out, yet blends in with your business or formal attire. I really love the look and feel of it all.

Very high quality tie. The feel is nice and it slides to make a great knot that holds its shape and is nice and square. The look is great and the color is perfect. It matches the photos in the description. The functionality is what you'd expect from a tie. The look is great and the value for the money is good too. This tie looks amazing! I love how vibrant the color is. The length is perfect and the quality of the fabric is immediately apparent when you feel it, great thickness. I think that the asking price is appropriate for the quality received, I would have no problem ordering it again. Simple and sharp looking tie. The light blue looks clean and works with almost all of my shirts and suits. It knots easily without bunching and the width is right in the middle, giving it a modern look without looking too trendy. My fiancee loves the light blue on me, so that is an added perk. The quality is exactly as you'd expect form the brand and the price was fair.

This tie is the perfect length and good quality material. The thickness is nice and it’s a nice traditional style. Perfect for styling with patterned shirts. The navy color is deep and beautiful. This has been a great staple to my husband’s dress clothes!

Nice tie, good color, medium width that goes with anything. The material feels robust premium. Only issue is that mine arrived with a slight crease/ripple where it was folded, at it hasn't seemed to have worked its way out. Tough to say if it's the material or tie itself, or just how it was shipped, but I can't guarantee that yours won't have the same issue. Even still, it's a solid tie overall

Oddly enough, I used to have to dress up a lot as a former concierge at a high end hotel during and slightly after my college days. They provided the clothing and the hotel even had its own tailor and seamstress. They made us wear nice clothing, but we couldn't take it home (unless it was REALLY getting old, they let me take a dress shirt home after like 5 years of working there, and I wasn't its first owner). Anyways, my point is I am familiar with quality wears, as well as the JCPenney wears, which is where I would normally shop for myself outside of that job. I am reviewing the navy color tie.This Tommy Hilfiger tie come packaged in a pretty standard plastic bag, with a cardboard piece to keep it together. Removing the tie, I quickly got snapbacks to that old hotel job. It has some heft to it, unlike the cheaper ties I am accustomed to nowadays, though it's a tie so it obviously isn't heavy. Per the label the tie is 52% silk, 48% polyester and is made in China, like most clothing items these days. It has a classic quality fabric look. You can mimmick the look of this tie with cheaper ties, I have one that also has this design, but I took it out comparing them and tried to be objective. This tie feels more quality. The heftiness, and the material were noticeably better than the JCP tie I have that looks similar from afar. An untrained eye may not notice, but a trained eye would. The material is textured, but also has a fairly smooth feeling when you run your hand along it. The style is a more classic, minimalist style. The Tommy Hilfiger logo is only present on the back - there are also four smaller 'H's in a diamond arrangement on the tip lining facing the wearer, so others likely won't see them. The back of the tie features a keeper loop made of the same fabric as most of the tie is, and the Tommy Hilfiger logo loop which can sort of double as a second keeper. There are two small red stitches on either end of the back of the tie, with those classic Hilfiger colors. I would say the tie is a tad bit thinner than most of my other ties, though not hugely so - that is the more common style nowadays. Putting it on, the tie was very comfortable, and looked classic yet modern at the same time. Price wise, you know this is going to be a higher price for a tie by the brand. You aren't buying this from the bargain bin. The thing is, like my old man once told me, you can buy a cheaper item of clothing that might last you a year or two, and if that's what you want, go for it. But this is the kind of piece you could keep with you for a decade, or your life if it is well cared for.Conclusion: Yes, this is a tie. It's a pretty expensive one. I also must disclose my bias for Tommy Hilfiger products, if you couldn't already tell. But I grabbed my JCPenney imitation tie and compared. This is heftier, though they supposedly have the same design the material on this tie feels much better quality. The tie was quite comfortable, and it tied almost effortlessly and looked good while tied with few adjustments needed, unlike lower quality ties I've tried. It is classic yet stylish and modern at the same time, not all ties pull that off but this one does. Getting a tie at this price point is a personal preference: do you want a brand name high quality piece that could last you a long time and that is quality? If so, I say this is a great choice. I am very glad that I have this tie, and I would highly recommend it.

Look: This tie has a great classic look. It looks like a knit cotton tie, but is smooth and made of silk and polyester.Durability: The fabric is on the hefty side, so it falls well down the front of you and isn't easily blown around.Wearability: It ties well. You don't get enormous knots because it's too thick or small knots because it is too thin.Packaging: It came in a plastic bag with card board in it, so it wouldn't come all wrinkled and bunched up.Overall, it's a nice tie. This is not a value buy. You're paying for quality, and it has it.
