good looking watch. great build quality. runs very accurate! (within 2 seconds per day very impressive).
Another solid timepiece from Citizen to add to my ever expanding watch collection. You can tell the quality is there and I believe Citizen Promasters best Seiko dive watches in the same price range. This is a proper, ISO certified diver's watch so it is a quite thick and is no lightweight. This said, it is a comfortable watch to wear. The case is well machined and is free of any sharp edges and the solid-link bracelet can be sized to pretty much any wrist, thanks to the micro-adjuster/diver extension in the clasp. The bezel adjusts well and does not have any wobble to it. Alignment with the dial and indices pretty much spot-on. The dial is a little darker in the flesh, compared with the pictures but does shine well in sunlight. The luminescence is also very good. The tried-and-true Miyota 8200-series movement is within 10 seconds a day - not too bad for an automatic watch in this price range.Just two items of note.First: My watch arrived in a generic Citizen watch box, not in the plastic 'air tank' that is shown on the page. I actually prefer the box to the 'air tank' as it's easier to store compared with the gimmicky plastic tank.Second and most important: The bracelet links uses a 'pin and collar' system, so sizing it to fit your wrist can be tricky if you don't know what you are doing and do not have the proper watch-specific tools. The pin is secured into the link with a tiny (and I mean tiny) hollow collar. These collars can easily become lost if you are not paying attention when removing the pins and the bracelet cannot be properly secured into place without them. Watch some YouTube videos first if you've never worked on a 'pin and collar' bracelet or take it to a watch store or jewellers for correct sizing if you do not have the proper tools or are not comfortable sizing watch bracelets.
El producto es una maravilla pero si yo lo compro como nuevo y asi lo pago, quiero que venga con los plasticos de embalaje. Y no ha sido asi, estoy decepcionado. Me estoy pensando si devolverlo. Comprado en Joyería Parejo.
What a good looking watch. It's so beautiful in person the pictures don't do justice. I really wanted a Seiko 5 divers style watch. But this Citizen Promaster is the real deal. Its a certified divers watch and the specs are just much better in general. At this price point, you are getting a much better watch compared to a Seiko 5 Sports. I'm still leaning towards getting Seiko but that's just because I want a "Seiko". But if you are in search of great affordable watch with good specs, and looks premium this is it. It's so underated honestly and at the end of the day Seiko or Citizen this is a great starter watch when getting into watches without breaking the bank. All I can really say is just buy it!
This is one of those watches you have to see and feel in person. Looking at the watch on your wrist in direct light, somehow puts one the visual affect that pulls you in to admire that blue mysterious dial. I know it sounds silly but trust me when I say this watch is as stunning to look at as it is durable. The bracelet is comfortable, and the case sits on the wrist beautifully. This is an excellent time piece! Also I did purchase the used version at a very persuasive discount almost $100 off. It came with the fun little diving tank case, and there is not one blemish or scratch or defect I can find. As far as I’m concerned the watch I got, is brand new. People! You watch enthusiasts that’s reading this and trying to decide on this or an eco drive, GET THIS while it’s hot!
The Citizen Promaster Dive Automatic is more than just a watch; it's a statement piece that seamlessly blends rugged functionality with refined style. The silver stainless steel case and bracelet exude a classic, timeless appeal, while the deep blue dial adds a touch of maritime allure. The automatic movement ensures precise timekeeping without the need for batteries, making it a reliable companion for any adventure. The luminous hands and markers offer excellent visibility in low-light conditions, perfect for underwater exploration or nighttime use.The watch's water resistance and shock resistance capabilities make it suitable for various water sports and outdoor activities. The screw-down crown adds to its durability and water resistance.Whether you're a seasoned diver or simply appreciate a well-crafted timepiece, the Citizen Promaster Dive Automatic is an excellent choice. It's a watch that will not only tell you the time but also elevate your style.
For background this is my 3rd citizen watch, and my first diver from them. I'm a fairly serious hobbiest watch collector and own lots of watches from different brands of different styles.I picked this up on the amazon prime day sale for $200, which for a watch like this is an absolute steal. The case:There's nothing really to write home about here. The case has a lower profile than I would have expected and it doesn't feel as heavy as I would have thought. I also own a citizen titanium sportswatch and the whole bit doesn't feel as heavy as this one, but it's not drastically different. It would be nice if the caseback was more interesting or see-through but that's not a deal breaker. It's a nice size and looks good on my 7.5in wrist. If you have a smaller wrist it may feel a bit too big, and an Orient mako may be a better option for you.The band:The band has a expander that makes it easy to perform microadjustments without having to take pins out. This is a great feature for being able to adjust to hot and cold weather (or in and out of water) quickly and easily for comfort. I took two links out and adjust this as I need to. It's comfy and easy to use. Great work here. The dial:The dial is the best part of the watch. It's both appropriate as a dive watch and classy enough that it has some pizaaz and sparkle to what feels like a voyage into the sea. The fade to light blue looks like it would mirror coming up out of the water. The time indicies are all rectangles except for the 12 o'clock triangle. And they look great in that faint green color. The hands:The mercedes / peace sign hand for the hour is a really nice touch. When It's partially skeletoned so when you see it in full lume in the dark (assuming while diving) there's a big difference between the hour and minute hand. This little trick makes it much easier to read while scuba diving. The Lume:The lume is great. Blue, bright, and just fantastic. The hands, indicators, and 12 o'clock on the bezel insert are lumed. The bezel and insert:The bezel is great. The clicks have a fluid feel to them. The insert not so much. It's aluminum and looks / feels cheap. I like that the bezel sits the insert above the crystal, so even though it's mineral I'm not worried about it getting scratched. I do worry that the insert will scratch easily and at the full price point I would have hoped there would be a ceramic bezel with more lume. This is something you can get with a $120 addiesdive ordered direct from China, and citizen should have done more here. These are supposed to be seiko SKX bezel compatible so I may upgrade it with something from LCBI.Crown:The crown is nothing special other than it has an engraving on the end. A lot of people like this, but nobody ever really sees it and I don't think it's that interesting of a feature. I wish instead of an engraving they would have installed crown protectors in the case. It both makes the watch sturdier and looks better than a little knob sticking out for the crown.Movement, instructions, and setting the time:The movement is an in-house automatic, either a Miyota 8204. It seems to be keeping good time, but I don't really regulate to the point where I care about losing a few seconds per day. It's running great and running regularly. The watch doesn't come with instructions, however if you've ever used a dive watch before (that isn't a vokstok) this one functions pretty much the same way as any of them. Plus once you register with the app it gives you the option to download instructions. Like just about all other watches certified at 200m or more, the crown screws down. So you'll need to unscrew it. Position 1 sets the day and date, position 2 sets the hours and minutes. The movement is "hacking" so the seconds hand will stop when you pull the crown into position. I don't care about hacking for accuracy down to the second (if I wanted that I'd use a radio controlled watch, not an automatic), but this makes the watches much easier to work on if one day I want to replace the hands or do any work on it.All in all it's a fantastic watch, a japanese diver offered at not much more than chinese bargain brand prices. At under $300, it's an absolte steal.
I could write a lengthy review about this watch but this guy “@Bravebeaters” does a splendid one of this particular model and colour on YouTube. Definitely worth watching. Most photos on the web do not properly and accurately capture the colour and texture of the dial. His video does. The best I can do is describe it as more of a smoked gold reminiscent of a vintage 50’s Les Paul tobacco burst guitar or of a 70’s gold painted Chevrolet Camaro. The flat crystal is rounded instead of beveled and this gives way to an optical distortion of the dial typical to vintage watches sporting a full domed window. The watch is definitely 70’s inspired. I’ve posted a photo of it beside two other popular citizen dive watches for comparison. This watch has a day/date combo on a white background that is much easier to see and IMO more useful than just a date. So far it stacks up rather well in the time keeping department against the unbeatable quartz driven eco drive model (runs about a minute fast per week like the Fugu automatic I own). I rather like the ratcheting diver style bracelet but will warn others that the inner side of the clasp will not be comfortable if the bracelet isn’t properly sized. I find all the Promaster series of Citizen watches to be tastefully designed, reasonably priced and well put together - Form and function are A1, and this model is no exception. In sum, retro styling and great looks, this is the watch that garners the most compliments of the three I own. It’s fabulous!Just a side note, pricing appears to fluctuate a lot here on Amazon. I picked this model up for $370 only to witness a price drop to $340 six days later. Amazon offers no 14 day price drop refunds like a lot of stores do in my area. Rather you must return and reorder. Weird.
