I wasn't expecting much from this relatively inexpensive 5G phone, but I am pleasantly surprised. It has plenty of premium features such as an AMOLED Main and Secondary screen at 120hz refresh -that are clear and bright, with rich, vibrant colors. The three cameras are good too...actually more than good, and take excellent low-light photos too. Ample storage capacity and RAM puts this is in a rare class, as most high end phones come with 256GB, but this one has 512GB plus 8+16GB RAM. Overall, a premium phone.. especially considering it's price. This is a keeper for sure!
I purchased this phone when it first came out. I had been using a Blu Bold K50. But I figured it was time for a better phone. I really like my new Blu Bold N4. A great 50 MP camera, a nice bright and responsive screen. It comes with a free protective case. And I like the pearl white back of the phone. I can totally recommend this phone for the price. It's worth it. It works great on T mobile, but it won't work with verizon or Boost Mobile.
Pretty good phone value for the price. Pretty fast, sleek, and I love how it looks. Although, there are some pros and cons.Pros:50 MP Camera with a combination of OIS and EIS. Pictures come out pretty good in decent light but the color comes out kind of dull for my taste. 5000 mAh battery with +66W charger included in the box. it takes around 30 minutes to go from a dead phone to full. 512GB of internal storage. Android 15 out of the box. Beautiful 1200x2652 120Hz AMOLED screen with 429ppi and up to 900+ nits. Duel speakers, one on the top and one on the bottom. Protecting that screen is a phone case that I personally love since it combines some great aspects of protection cushions in a thin case that also adds edges for grips and texture. Great CPU/GPU and memory combo with a MediaTek Dimensity 7300X & ARM Mali-G615, with 8GB physical RAM and up to 24GB of virtual RAM via hard drive space utilization. The Dimensity 7300X is the same as the Dimensity 7300, except the X version is optimized for dual screens. This brings me to the real eye catcher, the rear facing 1.74' OLED display. It is touch sensitive and can be used to cycle through several modes; notifications, camera, media player, recorder, stopwatch, alarms, and timer. Like wise you can enable AOD (Always On Display) for this rear display as well. Finally I love the color.Cons:The Camera works pretty good as a camera but video isn’t very well stabilized. This isn’t the phone you want if you take lots of video. There is quite a bit of bloatware but the vast majority is removable, but every now and then, the phone will update and it might re-install some of it. Also, if you aren’t careful and crank up all the settings on the phone you will need that 66W charger. You can easily have your phone battery drained if you don’t care what apps or settings are running in the background. There is no expandable storage so you only have 512GB total. While it does have Android 15, Android 16 just released and Blu is known for not upgrading their Android versions or releasing timely security updates. Although, considering normal Android version security support, Android 15 should still be supported until some time in 2028. Next, this maybe a pro or con but it does have a curved screen and with this model you also have an In-Display Fingerprint sensor. I understand some people are put off by curved screens and the placement of the fingerprint senor so that is why I’m adding them here. There is no headphone jack only Bluetooth, I prefer wired headphones but I know most people won’t care. Now the rear facing screen. The camera app on the rear screen only uses the rear facing camera so it makes a great selfie cam but that is pretty much it. The full front screen can shift between the front and rear camera, but can’t use both cameras at once. All the other functions for the rear screen you can think of as individual apps that have some kind of connection to proprietary apps that comes with the phone. The only one that really gave me any issues was the “Alarms” function. So the Alarms function is part of the Clock app that comes with the phone. I didn’t like that Clock app so I downloaded the Google Clock app. The Alarms function no longer works because it is part of the proprietary Clock app that comes with the phone. To have the Alarms function work, you have to set the alarms in the proprietary Clock app. If you normally place your phone front screen down then you might get more mileage out off the rear screen. As for me, I prefer placing my phone front screen up and enabling double tap to wake.
Love this phone. Perfect size with great storage. I also like that it has the multi-users function. Runs well and I was able to load all my favorite apps. Don't know why one user gave a 1 star but I give it a FIVE STAR review.
First disclosure: my current cellphone is a BLU BOLD N3, and I just received the -N4 this afternoon. SO i might be more than a little biased towards this phone model series. The previous (-N3) model came out 2023, and I bought it about this same time of year in 2023 -- so about two years experience. So my experience with N_ line is so far very positive I absolutely love the N3, so proud to pull it out of my pocket. Its looks alone puts far more expensive phones to shame. And it s performance has been stellar. So if I like the N3 so much, why did I buy the N4? Well, for one, BLU doesn't often (some say never) upgrades the android version of its phone models. The N3 runs on Android 13, while the N4 runs on Android 15. That's reason enough for some, though not really impacting my usage much, if at all. So, it's a reason, though not overly important to me. I could probably live with the N3 for a few more years.Secondly, BLU sold completely out of the -N3, and I expect the -N4 will also. It was a very popular high-end model for BLU. So I didn't want to wait around for the N4 model to be permanently sold out.And thirdly I wanted to get it at the initial $50 reduction in price. Now, admittedly, those aren't very good reasons for buying a cell phone, unless you have some very good experience with a prior version. And that's what I have -- the N3 version is so good, i just naturally assume the N4 is at least as good, and probably better, than the N3.Now I don't want to repeat what BLU advertises as the advantages of the N4. But add in some things it doesn't address:1) FM radio - both the N3 and the N4 have an FM radio. Not that most people would care.2) that's as far as I've gotten for today, I don't even know what utility that 2nd screen on the N4 serves. I'll get back here when I do.UPDATE 27 Oct 25Still a 5-star cellphone, but there are what some potential buyers might consider cons:1) a lot of ads on the N4. I guess that's the trade-off for a lower purchase price.2) To hear an alarm or bell for your alarm clock, you have to permit the alarm clock app to send the alarm as a notification.3) I have nowhere found a user manual for the N4 -- not at BLU, or any other website normally carrying user manuals. I would guess (hope) that BLU is working on an English user manual, and that the N4 (likely a rebranding of an India or China model) launching date just got ahead of the manual translation.4) The screen seems to prefer light finger touches and seems to often ignore heavy taps. Some more pro's:1) The N4 has a text magnifier, which works pretty well. (SETTINGS >ACCESSIBILITY > MAGNIFICATION > MAGNIFICATION SHORTCUT ACCECCESSIBILITY BUTTON) enabling this puts a little magnifying button on the right edge of the screen, when you need to magnify something, just tap the button then tap the text.2) The N4's miniature display on the back appears to take certain widgets, but not all. I think its purpose is to minimize battery drain for background tasks where a big screen display isn't necessary.3) The native music player app (Muzio) has a video player, but I wasn't able to get it to play videos on the miniature screen. But also I don't know why I would want to.That's all I have for now - If I find more, I'll be back.
