The synthetic bristles are soft, but sturdy. I noticed no loose bristles among the packaging, and none fell out during testing. The handles are of an adequate length and feel good in the hand. The colors are pleasant and not garish.The sponges and applicators seem to be a very nice quality. Soft, easy to use, gentle enough for sensitive skin.The headband is great for holding hair out of the way, but I find it a bit snug on my medium sized adult noggin. Might be more comfortable for a younger teen or child. I'm not sure why it has wrist bands. Is that something people use when applying makeup?The silicone bowl that is included is great for cleaning the brushes. The textured surface helps to remove built up product, while the silicone helps to prevent damage to the brushes.In all, this is a great set for the experience makeup wearer, or for younger teens who are just experimenting with the fun of cosmetics. I'm looking forward to sharing these items with my daughter when she is a little older.

That said they picked up the product well and did a fine job blending.
