I just love the olive drab color and to find a casual handbag made with military grade canvas in olive drab, well I couldn’t pass on it. And I’m impressed with the quality of the canvas material, the webbing of the strap, and the hardware of the strap buckle and all the zippers and snaps. High quality material throughout and excellent workmanship. I personally love the slouch of the handbag if not used with an insert, but this handbag needs some sort of organization inside the main compartment. Thankfully, those type items are readily available online and there are many options. But the bag does offer the standard privacy zippered compartment on the inside back of the bag, a small pocket behind that, it offers the 2 snapped compartments in the outside front, and provides a zippered compartment on the outside front just above the snapped compartments. So there is organization on the bag, however, large undivided main compartments just tend to make all items sag to the center of the bag in a mess that makes it difficult to locate items when we need them. So add a premade insert sized appropriately for this bag or use your own creativity to arrive at your way to keep things tidy.I love this bag and it’s quite difficult to find a proper slouchy handbag made with a high quality material that you can toss in the wash machine if it gets dirty. Trust me…I’ve looked. This is the perfect casual bag that could also be personalized with beading, with embroidery, with patches, with fabric paint pens, stenciling, etc. A perfect blank canvas for those who want some bling or whatnot. Mine, it stays as is in the beautiful, natural olive drab I so love. I highly recommend.
This messenger bag has a great vintage, rugged look. It's exactly the kind of old school style I was hoping for. The canvas material feels thick and durable, and the brass tone hardware adds a nice touch that makes it look like something out of an adventure movie. It’s got storage space inside with some extra zip pockets for organization, so it’s practical as well as stylish. My one complaint is the zipper on the main compartment. It works fine, but honestly, it kills a bit of the classic vibe this bag otherwise nails. A simple flap closure would’ve kept the aesthetic cleaner and more authentic.Other than that, it’s a solid bag. Comfortable strap, good build quality, and it fits the “vintage explorer” look perfectly. If you like bags with character, this one definitely delivers.
This is a perfectly smallish sized army green canvas messenger bag that will make a great day outing diaper bag! Its style is classic & unisex so my husband won’t mind carrying it around, too. We don’t need our ginormous backpack diaper bag for every outing like if I’m just running some quick errands w/the little one, so this is perf!I was able to fit 2 extra outfits, about 5 pull on diapers, a nice-sized foldable diaper change pad, plastic bags (for soiled things), & even a small container of emergency snacks! (Forgot to fit in some wet wipes but could def remove a few diapers & take out an outfit & fit in a package of wet wipes in there instead.Alternatively, this bag would def make a cute & useful school or work bag, could carry an iPad (maybe a very small laptop but the bag isn’t padded at all). The inner 2 pockets are quite shallow - best for things like keys, pens or stylus, a little make up basics, slim wallet. One of the 2 inner pockets has a zipper on it. The 2 outer pockets have only snap closures. The outer zippered pocket would work well for a phone.I really like that this bag can go crossbody. The strap is quite thick and durable. Appreciate the metal hardware - just nylon zippers, tho. The canvas is good quality & has a washed feel to it. All in all, a great buy & very versatile!
Love this bag! It's tough and very durable. Size is perfect.
I ordered this School Vintage Canvas Messenger Bag for Men Crossbody Shoulder Bag Satchel for my husband; I made him a larger canvas art bag he could take out to Central Park and Prospect Park and around the streets of our NYC neighborhood, but he wound up stowing so many art supplies in it, it got too heavy. He asked me for a smaller canvas bag, just large enough for a set of pencils, a sharpener, and a sketchbook, and this crossbody style messenger bag is perfect for grab and go sketching on weekends. The bag I received measures about 9 1/2” tall x 11 3/4” wide; it’s about 3 3/4” deep, and has a wide, adjustable crossbody strap fir easy carrying. The bag has plenty of extra room; there’s space for more art supplies beyond his pencils and sketchbook, but I get why he wants to limit the size. The art bag I got home last year is great, and when we go on a country house weekend, it’s perfect to grab, kind of like a whole studio packed up and ready to go. But when he’s trying to carve out a little time for sketching on a busy weekend, this smaller bag is ideal. He can throw in ink pens or charcoal, but the smaller size discourages him from storing too many supplies; the smaller bag is also easy to carry around. This bag is made from a canvas style fabric. The sales page doesn’t provide information about the textiles in this bag. My best guess is that this is some sort of blended canvas; it doesn’t feel like 200% cotton canvas, but it’s string and sturdy. Maybe it’s a cotton/poly blend? I’m not a fabric expert, so all I can really say is that the fabric is nicely sturdy.I ordered this in black; it’s a deep, inky black. I’ve told my husband not to take it out in the rain yet; I want to wash it a few times to see how much dye it loses. My teenage son wore a new canvas bag over a light seersucker jacket in the rain—both pieces were badly stained. So far, this black canvas bag seems fairly color safe—no black is rubbing off onto clothing—but I do want to wash this a few times before it gets caught in a downpour. The front of the bag has two pockets with bronze toned snap tops; the top of the bag zips. There’s a large inner compartment; it has a smaller inner pocket. My husband is pleased with the storage space, as well as being pleased that it’s too small to tempt him into bringing along a giant sketch pad, a copy of the OED, and half a cold turkey fir snacking. It’s just the right size for a travel sketchbook and some pens and pencils.
