My Lian Li O11 Air Mini came with two 140mm Lian Li fans, but the noise wasn’t to my liking. I prefer my PC as silent as possible while still keeping decent cooling, so I tried the old NF-A14 Chromax. They had an unpleasant hum above 600 RPM, Silent Wings had a similar issue, and the Arctic P14 sounded like a jet.I tested a few other brands, but they were either too loud or lacked airflow. I then switched to Noctua’s NF-A12x25 Chromax, despite being 120mm, they were quiet and moved a good amount of air. then I patiently waited for Noctua’s new NF-A14x25 G2 Chromax, and now they’ve arrived.Anyone who's complaining about the price or comparing them to other brands probably has a limited budget, so it’s easier to complain. Noctua is still the King of fans, no question. After I have replaced it the front NF-A12x25 Chromax with the NF-A14x25 G2 Chromax, my temps overall dropped by 3–4°C, but he best part is that while the other fans (all NF-A12x25 Chromax) ran at 750 RPM, the NF-A14x25 Chromax achieves better cooling at 400 RPM, and even at 800–1000 RPM, they’re dead silent. After ordering the second set of Sx2 PP I have also swapped the two bottom fans from NF-A12x25 Chromax to NF-A14 Chromax, and now my system is completely silent during idle or web browsing, even with your ear right next to the case. Under full load, the larger fans produce a slightly lower noise opposed to already impresive NF-A12x25 and at the same time the airflow is whey higher, it's like comparing apples to oranges. In Cinebench R23, the 9950X3D scored 42,700, which is impressive for air-cooled chip, nearly 800 points higher than with previously NF-A12x25 Chromax fans, clearly showing the airflow gains.I’m still planning to get 4x NF-A12x25 G2 Chromax in 2026 for my NH-U12A, as well as the rear and top exhaust.Noctua’s main improvement with these fans wasn’t just airflow, but noise-to-performance ratio. Compared to something like Arctic, sure, they can push a ton of air, but they do it at speeds of 2200 RPM or more, which ends up sounding like a jet engine.
I grabbed these as soon as I found out they were available. I had just built a new computer weeks before, so comparing between these Sx2-PP variants and the gen 1 nf-a14s was pretty easy. I'm not running these on a radiator specifically but I don't even hear a hum from these now. Very well done. Can't wait for the 120mm.
The wait is finally over! chromax.black of the G2 lineup is here (for 140mm) Get this if you're planning to put two beside each other, as this bundle includes fans that are slightly off in RPM speed to lower the audible sound of the hum.So that includes putting them as case fans, our probably more popular, AIOs. Very quiet, and comes with a bunch of extras like PWM extensions and a splitter cable. The best, now in black!

chromax.black edition
State-of-the-art quiet cooling performance for PC cases and water cooling radiators in a sleek all-black design: The chromax.black dual set of the award-winning NF-A14x25 G2 140mm fan. Succeeding the iconic NF-A14, the NF-A14x25 G2 has quickly established itself as a new benchmark for premium quality quiet 140x25mm fans. Its advanced aerodynamic engineering featuring a novel Progressive Bend impeller design with Centrifugal Turbulator hub, winglets and a record tight tip clearance of only 0.7mm enables the G2 model to provide a significant boost in performance-to-noise efficiency over its renowned predecessor. The Sx2-PP set contains two fans that are slightly offset in speed (+/- ~25rpm) in order to avoid undesirable harmonic phenomena such as beat frequencies, which can be heard as intermittent vibrations or periodic humming due to interference. This makes it ideal for both push-pull applications and situations where two or more fans are running side by side such as in typical case fan configurations as well as on 280 or 420mm water cooling radiators. Topped off with Noctua’s trusted premium-grade SSO2 bearing and more than 150,000 hours MTTF, the NF-A14x25 G2 PWM Sx2-PP chromax.black is the perfect choice for users who are looking for a dual 140mm fan set that combines cutting-edge quality, quietness and performance in an all-black style.
From the impeller and fan frame to the anti-vibration pads, anti-vibration gasket, anti-vibration mounts, screws and cables, the chromax.black edition is black from head to toe, making it easy to integrate into all-black PC builds and various other environments.
Bundling two NF-A14x25 G2 PWM fans that are speed-offset by +/- ~25rpm in order to avoid undesired acoustic interaction phenomena, the Sx2-PP set is the ideal choice for push-pull configurations as well as situations where two fans or more are operating side by side such as on 280mm radiators or in typical case cooling applications.
The NF-A14x25 G2 has a record tight tip clearance (distance between the blade tips and the inside of the frame) of only 0.7mm. This highly ambitious design sets a new benchmark for 140mm fans and helps the NF-A14x25 G2 to work more efficiently against back pressure, such as on heatsinks or radiators, by reducing leak flows through the gap between impeller and frame.
Most fans become slightly slower when working against back pressure such as on heatsinks and radiators, which results in reduced performance. Enabled by the new NA-FD6 driver IC, Noctua’s SupraTorque technology allows the fan to leverage additional torque headroom when required in order to keep its RPM speed at the desired level no matter the airflow resistance, ensuring consistent performance even in the most demanding conditions.
