I have four small children and have been changing diapers for almost 8 years. I discovered this product with child #3 and I wish I had found it sooner. It is so easy to apply, doesn’t have a horrible smell, and is so great at preventing and treating diaper rashes. We cloth diaper mostly and have had no issues with it messing up our diapers.I think besides keeping my children’s tushies happy, my favorite thing is that I can apply this product while my feral children are pretending they are possessed alligators.

Talc free and perfect for babies! I love that it has the same ingredients as diaper rash cream, so I use this instead of the cream to help out my baby

the powder is ok but not as good as caldesene medicated powder for sensitive adult skin (the pink and blue containers) which is not available on the Australian amazon site but is on the UK amazon site were we originally purchased it , but they no longer ship to Australia, the powder was used on a gentleman confined to a wheelchair and proved to be more effective for his skin than the one we just purchased, would it be possible it on the Australian amazon site

My baby had a persistent heat rash and diaper rash combo that just would not give up. I tried so many different things, from drugstore brands to the expensive "all natural/organic" types, and nothing was working. After weeks of battling them I finally turned to powders (I had been apprehensive because of all the warnings regarding respiratory issues and such), but I searched for a talc-free option, and found this.THIS IS THE ONLY THING THAT WORKS!!!If you're also searching for the solution to your baby bum rash problems, give this a try! Ever since we turned to Caldesene, we've been rash free. During the day, I apply the powder, and before bedtime, I generously slather on Aquaphor with his overnight diaper. Rash-free (knock on wood) and at such a great value for your money! One tip that I do have is that you should tap the powder out of the bottle and onto baby's skin, but don't rub it or spread it around, because then it puffs up into the air, and talc-free or not, it may not be the best thing for baby to keep breathing in powder. If my review has helped you in any way, please let me know, or hit "Yes" under this review. Thank you! :)

This powder is very soothing and protects skin from chafing. The powder is also very effective in healing any irritation . I love that it prevents irritation before it starts. The soothing corn starch with zinc oxide makes it better than plain powder. I have had a subscription for several years now. I have no preference for the baby or the regular one. They are both the same except the difference in smell. Both powders smell fine but the baby has a kind of baby smell.

I used another powder for years (which may or may not have a color in it's name!) and this is better. It keeps damp, sticky places dry and comfortable. I use either the baby version or the regular pink canister!

My baby’s bottom is very sensitive and has had so many diaper rash flare ups no matter what product I used. This powder has significantly decreased his flare ups. In fact, he has not had a flare up in a long time. Just make sure your baby’s bottom is completely dry before applying to get the best of it.

Caldesene

Caldesene Baby Cornstarch Powered with Zinc Oxide

Baby Care

What is diaper rash?

What is Diaper Rash?

Diaper rash is a common skin irritation of early childhood. When skin remains wet for too long, it begins to break down. Moisture from a diaper can harm your baby’s skin and make it more prone to chafing. When this happens a diaper rash may develop. Other causes of diaper rash include introducing new foods, using new brands of diapers, wipes, laundry detergent, etc., or using antibiotics.

Identifying diaper rash

Identifying Diaper Rash

Diaper rash usually shows up as a patch of pinkness or redness, and scaling skin where the diaper meets baby’s bottom. A bad case of diaper rash usually causes pimples, blisters and other sores on your baby’s buttocks, thighs or genital area. If the rash gets infected, it may be swollen and turn bright red. Be sure to call your doctor if the rash spreads to other areas, it gets worse or does not go away in 2-3 days, or if your baby develops a fever.

Preventing/Treating diaper rash

Preventing/Treating Diaper Rash

There are three main things you can do to keep diaper rash from happening:

Clean your baby’s bottom between diaper changes with plain warm water, avoiding scented wipes and soaps. Let your baby’s skin dry before putting on another diaper or let their bottom air dry. Protect your baby’s skin with Caldesene Baby, which is safe to apply after each diaper change.

Skin Care

Prickly Heat

Prickly Heat and Heat Rash

Prickly heat is a heat rash that can develop when sweat gets trapped in the skin and causes inflammation and itching. A dusting of Caldesene Medicated Protecting Powder can absorb sweat and help the rash heal faster.

Chafing and Dryness

Chafing and Dryness

Chafing commonly occurs in areas such as the inner thigh, groin area or armpits. The zinc oxide in Caldesene Medicated Protecting Powder serves as a barrier between skin and surrounding air or clothing, helping to soothe these areas and prevent further irritation.

Sand removal

Sand Removal

After a day at the beach, rub Caldesene Medicated Protecting Powder onto skin and hair to quickly absorb the moisture on your skin and let sand fall away. Or, sprinkle on beach towels and clothing for easy sand removal.
