We love this body wash for our daughter with eczema!
During hot summer days I sometimes shower a few times. I like something gentle on the skin but I still want more than just a rinse. Castile soap was drying my skin. The eucerin version didn’t clean sweat smells as well. This is my favorite of the 3. I haven’t tried the honest one but I think that has a higher price point & I like this enough that I intend to stick with this one. I am fair skinned, freckled, have a slight annoying fragrance allergy, age 46, live in New England, am very active, have no AC at home which is where I work. I can go through quite a bit of this soap, using it as a shampoo & body wash. It’s wonderfully gentle & not drying. The scent (unscented) is pleasant meaning the ingredients of course have some smell but it’s nice. I was thinking of trying either the lavender or calendula but I think I’ll probably add a drop of my favorite essential oils onto the cloth in the shower which are lavender, bergamot, maybe occasionally eucalyptus & especially good for focus - clary sage.
Was looking for an all natural and effective shampoo/conditioner and body wash for my toddler with eczema. Was hesitant over the price but after a month of use, it helped calm her eczema scalp and skin. Has a great lather and unscented so it doesn’t irritate her sensitive skin. Will continue to be our go to bath products!
I've been using this for about 3 months now. It is a very gentle shampoo but it leaves your face and hair very clean by using a small amount. It lathers a little which is all that is needed. Just having a layer of it on your face or hair is enough for a good wash. I got this because I had read about it on Environmental Working Group's Skin Deep database. This had a very good ingredients list and rating there. They have gone into a lot of details to get this product right. Even the container is safe (you can see the descriptions on the front and back in the images provided here). It recommends leaving it on for 30 seconds before washing it off for it's full effect, which is a good idea. One of the reasons I got it was because I knew the regular shampoos and especially dandruff controlling shampoos had a negative effect on my scalp. With dandruff you need a mild shampoo to use 2-3 times a week. This did the trick and I've been mostly dandruff free if I use this 3 times a week. I use Kirkland Signature Extra Strength for Men Minoxidil Topical Solution, 12 Fluid Ounce so this may be the reason my hair gets dried out and dandruffy still.Again for an acne prone skin, like dandruff, you need a mild cleanser which you can use once a day. I use it on my face and eyelashes (which I had dandruff on) once a day using my hands and it's just right. Just don't expect too much lather, just applying it and rubbing a little is enough. This product can be found at Bed Bath and Beyond and Whole Foods Market, but this size is cheaper on Amazon with free shipping.
I brought another CB product from this UK seller at the same time I purchased this product, unfortunately it wasn't any good which I have not attempted to use this. I brought directly from CB website instead. Apologises but I would risk using this on my son as he come out with rash using the other product. He doesn't get rash from the product brought direct from CB.
**This review is based on the old product before reformulation**I have very sensitive skin myself and am used to having to look for gentle fragrance-free products, which can be very hard to do with most products utilizing masking fragrances and overt perfumes (not to mention colorants). When our son developed eczema as an infant, I decided to switch from a fairly mild and "natural" scented product, that I liked with reservations, to something even more mild. After doing a great deal of research into what was available and safe, I settled on this product and have not looked back. After using up a smaller bottle we had purchased to test the product, we bought our first 19oz. bottle of the Super Sensitive Shampoo and Bodywash 11 months ago. While the purchase price certainly felt like a hit on the wallet, when I consider that the bottle lasted through nearly a year of daily use (in quantities greater than the dime-sized portion suggested in the use directions, which has just been our habit, and not strictly necessary), I realize that it's actually a pretty great value. Adding to my confidence in the product, I am convinced it is among the safest formulas on the market. Don't take my word for it... look more closely at what is in the mainstream baby products and at available research about the potential harm of some of the ingredients, and see if you don't agree. The product leaves our little guy smelling and feeling clean. The wash produces a nice gentle lather, rinses off cleanly and doesn't irritate him, even when the soapy water gets into his eyes -- without the use of numbing agents. I believe the switch to California Baby resolved the eczema he had as a smaller baby, and we plan to use this same wash from the beginning on his younger sibling, who is due this autumn. All in all, I believe this product to be an excellent purchase and I highly recommend it.
California Baby shampoo is gentle, natural, and perfect for sensitive skin. Made with plant-based ingredients and free of harsh chemicals, it cleanses without drying the scalp. The light scent is soothing, and it leaves hair soft and manageable. Parents love it for babies, kids, and even adults with delicate skin.
I bought this shampoo and body wash for my newborn niece, and it’s been a wonderful product so far. The foam is rich and easy to work with, making bath time smooth and enjoyable. I really appreciate that it has almost no scent — perfect for sensitive newborn skin. The consistency is light and flows well, which makes it easy to use both as a shampoo and a body wash. The only downside for me is the price — it’s definitely on the higher end compared to other baby products. But given how gentle and effective it is, I’d still say it’s worth it for babies with sensitive skin. Overall, a great purchase that I feel good about using on a newborn.
My baby has sensitive skin, he is ok with it.
I love the clean ingredients and I love that there’s no scent.
