The famous Hellbender began making its way into anglers’ tackle boxes in the late 1950s. Over the years, Hellbenders have held many state and world records for most freshwater species. The unique heart-shaped diving lip design gives it a tempting wide-wobbling action. This design also makes it dive quick and deep, and allows it to flip easily over most structure. It is the consummate lure for fishing steep banks and drop-offs … down to at least 35 feet on a long flat-line troll. The Hellbender Downrigger (hookless) model is known as a budget downrigger. When trolling, the angler’s favorite trolling lure is tied 10-to-20 feet behind a Downrigger Hellbender, which will take the lure down to more than 75 feet.

08-03-2026Really seductive action. Like retrieving it slow just out of sight or barely visible. Have caught lots of bass on it. Picking the right color for your area would be an additional advantage. Lost the only one I had being snagged across a pond with no access around. A year later I went back and crossed over on an inner tube and got the lure. That's how much I treasured this lure. Nice I've found it again on sale.

08-03-2026Ordered this item. It said it would be there in 2 days. There was a delay. It arrived the next day and it was broken. There were no hooks with it and the attachments where you can put the hook were broken off. You can see it in the pictureI like this company. I like their lures very disappointed about this. Has the order was time sensitive.
