New mama here and honestly didn’t know I needed this, but now couldn’t live without it! This makes applying diaper balm super easy. The texture of this product allows the product to go on smoothly. It’s also very easy to wipe clean. I love the height! I can’t really get the suction cup thing to work, but not a deal breaker because it stands up on its own easily without it. 5/5!!
I put it next to my computer mouse to show size. I LOVE THIS! When I was pregnant, I put this on my registry, everyone laughed and poked fun at me. Saying things like "back in my day we just used our fingers." I'm so glad I stuck to my on thoughts on this. When my baby got a diaper rash that was so bad his entire area was candy apple red, the last thing I wanted to do was touch it. He was way more calm when I used this to spread the diaper cream on. Not to mention that it makes clean up a breeze. I don't have the cream stuck all over my fingers and under my nails. I hate the way creams and lotions feel on my hands, so it was much better using this. Also, it makes spreading an even layer easier. Most of the time I'm able to do it in one swoop, so I don't have to hurt my babies' bottom anymore than necessary. It's so cheap too! $7-10 depending on which style and sizes you buy. I literally bought 3. One for my living room, bedroom, and even the smaller version for my diaper bag. Hands down best item I put on my registry.
This is the third diaper cream spatula I've purchased - one for the changing table, a travel size for the diaper bag, and this most recent one is for the bathroom so we can quickly diaper after bath time. I've been using them for over 11 months now. They are very easy to use - just squeeze a dollop of cream onto the blade and spread! (To prevent contamination, avoid dipping the spatula into a tub of diaper cream if your product doesn't come in a tube.) It applies smoothly and evenly to the skin.I recommend washing with dish soap if possible, to help cut the grease of the diaper cream. A disposable wipe also works to remove any cream residue. The packaging says the spatulas can be boiled to sterilize, if needed (e.g. if baby has a diaper rash or stomach bug). The suction ability depends on the surface I think; it sticks well to bathroom counters but tends to fall over if I try to stand it up on wood.It seems silly but this is one baby convenience product I swear by, and highly recommend to other parents.
Save your fingernails from the dreaded diaper cream! This is a must have for all parents!!! Easy to use, easy to clean! I bought a second to keep in the diaper bag too!
This is the third full-size bumco spatula I have ever bought! (We bought the mini-size in green too!)I’m sooooo happy they’ve expanded to new and exciting colors that aren’t just pink or blue… we already own the pink and blue in both full-size and mini-size (diaper bag) for our older kiddos and we bought this green for our newest baby!
These things are incredible! Don’t listen to anyone when they say these aren’t required!! It’s so nice not getting any cream or lotion all over your hands, and makes getting an even application very easy. Spend the few dollars and save your hands
I bought my first Bumco brush when my son was a newborn, and it’s been fantastic for spreading diaper cream while keeping my fingers clean. It’s also easy to wipe clean. The original brush is still in great condition after almost two years of use, but I decided to buy two more—one for my second baby and an extra just in case we lose one or it gets chewed up by the dog.
Love this!! Have my nails done regularly so cant go sticking fingers in cream or it just ends up all stuck down nails, this is the perfect solution
This is the third time I've had a bumco spatula and they are by far the best! They make it so easy and mess free to put on diaper cream. I usually buy the squirt tube diaper cream to avoid bacteria getting into a tub of cream. I squirt the diaper cream onto the spatula, put it on baby, and wipe the excess into the clean diaper. Works like a charm! Highly recommend! I buy one of these as a gift to throw in with stuff everytime I go to a baby shower.
We love these spatula they are easy to use and mess free!
Like the other reviewers said, at first thought this seems totally unessesary BUT I honestly love this thing! Especially if you have to use a bum cream that is particularly heavy or sticky or WHATEVER... It's so nice to not have to scrub the crap out of your hands and under your nails or your nail beds after every diaper change and this lets you apply a nice even layer. Like I said, unessesary but I totally love it.
I worked in a nursery for many years before having kids, and I was gifted this at my baby shower. What a game changer! The point of diaper cream is to provide a barrier, so it makes sense that you wouldn’t be able to simply rinse it off your hands. This product makes application so easy and clean, and I recommend it to every mom-to-be that I know!
