Edit: Okay it has worked so well that I need to update! I think perhaps the highest recommendation is whether you would purchase it again......and today I received my second one to put in the other car. Truly surprised at how a smallish flashlight can produce such light. No it is not like a searchlight, but it is much brighter than other similar flashlights I have which are larger and which cost more! Basically you don't want a huge flashlight for the car. You want one that will fit in your glove box of in a side pocket which is easily reachable and dependable. I put some extra batteries in the case just to be safe. The rechargeable battery is the only thing I would change. I would rather have a long life battery that you replace every year or so as charging in the car is not very convenient. This charger goes into a wall outlet meaning you have to take it out of the car to charge it and that is the only thing I would change. The little box is padded and I have dropped it on the cement floor and the flashlight was protected. Typically don't update/edit a 5 star review unless there has been a change since I initially wrote the first one. This one however has performed beyond my expectation and felt it was deserving of an update!I had left my prior car flashlight in the car I traded in and wanted to replace it with one similar. I wanted one that was very bright and had both strobe and SOS flashing. Being able to focus the beam in tightly or keep it wide was another item I wanted. This fits the bill and does even more. Unlike my prior flashlight, this one comes in a neat little plastic case which holds the charger and battery as well as the flashlight. I have a compact car and thought it might not fit, but proved to fit perfectly in my Mini glove box.I don't know how many times over the years I have used the car flashlight but it is a lot. From searching for dropped keys under the seat, to arriving home without lights on making it tough to see the door knob, to using it to read a map or a book, well the uses were more than the emergency ones for which I purchased it. I would never own a car without having a decent flashlight. This one is more than decent. There was also room in the case for me to put several regular batteries. That way if when I need it the rechargeable one needs charging, I will be able to install those and have it function immediately. One of the things that bugged me about my old one was it was very difficult to move between the various light modes. It required a just so light touch and if you hit it too hard, it would just turn off rather than moving to the next mode. This one automatically moves to the next mode without having to guess how hard to push the button. You turn it on, then off and then immediately back on again and it goes to the next mode. Turn it off and then immediately back on and it cycles to the next one. This is way easier.I would definitely recommend this. I have not had time to check the battery life, but like most rechargeable batteries assume that how long it lasts is a function of how often it is used and how long it has been since you last charged it. Because this one will also run on regular batteries, that isn't a factor for me. Likewise I didn't test it for water proof. While I don't have any plans to drop it in a lake, should I drop it in a puddle and it lives I will be more than satisified.

Just as it was pictured and described. Charged fully in about 3 hours and works just fine. Well built and feels good in the hand. Case is pretty flimsy but the light itself is fine.

Solid build. I've had this light for 8.5 years. no issues. the rechargeable battery is one 18650 2200 Ah battery with a plastic sleeve. The charger unit is separate which is unfortunate because i always have to hunt it down when needed. Better would be a plug in way straight to the battery from a standard wall mount. To give this flashlight that extra boost i use one 27100 5000 mAh battery, in this case you do not use the plastic sleeve insert - This give twice the light intensity ! Not sure if this is recommended but i have not burnt out the led yet. will update if that happens but as of today it's all good. If you go with the 21700 battery you may also need to get it's own charger as well if you don't already have these but some people my already have these at home already. enjoy

It's an OK flashlight, have some difficulty with the on off button but it works and is very bright. The flashlight is built well and will outlast the battery. I say that because the time between charges is getting shorter and shorter. For the price I think it is a good value. I'd buy it again.

As of right now it works great. We use it to take our dogs outside in our wooded yard. Light is bright and you can adjust the beam.

This is a great little flashlight! I really like the fact that it can be used with the included rechargeable battery but also has a sleeve for three AA batteries if charging isn't an option.

Bright and decent value the money, but I doubt that its 1000 lumens. This is a nice bright unit. Battery lasts a very long time. This unit also comes with a case to hold everything which was a nice added bonus.I have bought 2 other models (3 total models) that I can compare to this one for you.1. (THIS UNIT) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01ECVB6P0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 this item represents itself as 1000 lumens. I have tested all of the units and swapped batteries while testing and used an identical battery in all units. The Outlite A100 was brighter. Construction, fit and finish were nearly identical. Price is about the same. This unit comes with a case which the Outlite does not, but they both come with the same stuff.2. (Other Flashlight I bought) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00X0QFZ06/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 This item is a great value, but not as bright as this Outlite. At the time of writing this review it included 2 flashlights as a combo buy - $8.50 for both flashlights (without batteries) If you buy 18650 battery and charger as well its a pretty good deal. Its pretty bright, just not quite as bright as the Outlite, close though. This item represents itself as 1200 lumens, which I doubt because the Outlite A100 says its a 900 Lumen and is brighter than this flashlight. This flashlight is smaller than the Outlite by about 1-2 inchs. By the way, the battery and charger combo i bought was: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B017T6W9EC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 it included 4 batteries and charger for 12.99.3. (Other Flashlight I bought) https://www.amazon.com/Outlite-Handheld-Flashlight-Portable-Tactical/dp/B00VZT2WP6/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1473084175&sr=8-2&keywords=Outlite+A100+900+Lumens This unit is a amazon best seller and represents itself as 900 lumens. It was the brightest of all 3. I would recommend this unit over the 1st one. I would say that if you want 1 good flashlight that fits in your hand perfectly get this Outlite, if you want more than 1 flashlight and dont mind the smaller size (does not fit in hand) Get the Ultrafire SK 98 because its a combo and you cant beat the price and brightness. Each of the 3 units have pros and cons. Realistically, you cant go wrong with any of them. 3 is the brightest and most expensive, 2 is a combo and as bright at the Peak plus, and this PeakPlus includes a case and is a larger (fit in your hand) flashlight like the outlite as opposed to the 2nd one combo flashlight which is a mini size. All these units look and operate similar, but the Outlite was the brightest, and the Ultrafire SK98 was the best value, the Peakplus has a case.
